**911 Entry Level Dispatcher**
***Candidates must be available and flexible to work any assigned shift, holidays, and overtime.***
Shifts: A: 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. \| B: 3:00 P.M. – 11:00 P.M. \| C: 11:00 P.M. – 7:00 A.M.
***Are you calm under pressure, detail\-oriented, and ready to play a critical role in emergency response\-answering 911 calls, coordinating first responders, and helping keep Fort Wayne and Allen County safe?***
**What You'll Do** Learn and perform emergency and non\-emergency dispatching for police, fire, and EMS. Take 911 calls, evaluate emergencies, and provide critical information to first responders. Operate and maintain communications equipment while documenting all activities accurately.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Answer 911 and non\-emergency calls for service
* Dispatch Police, Fire, and EMS in Fort Wayne and Allen County
* Collect and report critical information during high\-stress situations
* Use NCIC, IDACS, and Spillman databases for warrants, license checks, and officer support
* Communicate clearly and calmly with staff, emergency responders, and the public
**What You Bring – Education \& Experience**
* High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
* Must pass keyboarding test (minimum 40 WPM)
* Ability to quickly assess emergency situations and extract key information
* Calm, professional, and detail\-oriented with strong communication skills
**Preferred Certifications / Skills**
* Knowledge of law enforcement, fire, and EMS operations
* Proficient in computers, radios, and office equipment
* Ability to read maps and use emergency codes effectively
