Description
The role focuses on the development and management of robotics-oriented projects and systems, integrating technical and organizational efforts. The professional will join the R\+D\+i team, assuming a dual role that combines support for project management and for system design and development. Technically, responsibilities include Python programming; system design, development, electro-mechanical integration, and full-system testing; as well as electronics design for sensor signal reception, processing, and handling.
Knowledge of GNU/Linux systems, experience with CAD design applicable to 3D-printed prototyping, familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System), and expertise in robot design, construction, and maintenance are highly valued.
In project management, activities involve participation in designing innovative technological solutions and preparing technical proposals and reports for private companies and national or international public R\+D\+i calls. This includes defining work plans and monitoring progress using agile methodologies, validating the quality of technological developments and associated documentation, and liaising with internal staff, partners, and suppliers for task assignment and progress tracking. An ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with organizational capability to coordinate multiple project aspects.
The working environment fosters collaboration and innovation, emphasizing accessibility and applied technology. The ideal candidate must demonstrate competencies such as honesty, commitment, autonomy, conflict resolution, effective communication, proactivity, adaptability to change, organization, work quality, and a collaborative mindset. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects within a dynamic and evolving field, alongside a team dedicated to technological advancement.
The position is based on an Employment Promotion Contract with full-time hours. Remuneration is yet to be determined. Autonomous mobility is required, but travel is not available. The direct reporting line is to the Head of the R\+D\+i Department, with occasional reporting to the R\+D\+i Director and ultimately to the Director of Universal Accessibility. Working relationships include interaction with project managers, assigned internal staff, external partners, and suppliers.
A university degree in Industrial Engineering (Mechatronics or Electronics specialization) or equivalent is required. A postgraduate degree is not mandatory. Computer skills must include Python, GNU/Linux systems, and version control tools such as Git. ROS knowledge is considered an asset. Language requirements include English at B2 level. Regarding experience, at least one year in systems development and engineering—specifically in roles related to robotics project and systems development and management—is required. Essential competencies include honesty and commitment, autonomy and conflict resolution, communication and active listening, proactivity and adaptability to change, organization and work quality, and teamwork and collaborative vision.
