A private property located in the Sant Vicenç de Montalt area (Maresme) is seeking a Maitre who will serve as an ambassador of exceptional service and create memorable experiences for its guests. Reporting to the House Manager, your main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following: * Consistently deliver professional, discreet, and courteous service. * Welcome guests upon arrival. * **Dining Room Management:** Act as the formal Maître D' for all family meals and private events, overseeing service flow, pacing, and execution of food and beverage service to restaurant-level hospitality standards. * **Culinary Liaison and Menu Coordination:** Collaborate daily with the Chef and the House Manager on menu planning and organization, dietary restrictions, and dish presentation. Assist with food procurement and monitor supply expiration dates. * **Table Setting and Ambience Design:** Lead and execute formal table setups, verifying meticulous placement of linens, tableware, and lighting. Ensure background music, ambient temperature, and overall atmosphere are perfectly curated prior to guest arrival. * **Wine and Beverage Program:** Assume full responsibility for the bar area’s supply, cleaning, and maintenance. Place orders and restock beverages and spirits. Maintain an expert-level cellar log with detailed inventories of wines and spirits, managing appropriate storage temperatures, decanting, and fine wine pairings. * **Staff Training and Supervision:** Train and supervise temporary or auxiliary service staff on English-style service (*silver service*), plate removal, table manners, and formal hospitality etiquette. Assign tasks and plan service in advance to ensure seamless operations. * Assist with household supply inventories, ordering, and restocking. * Answer incoming property telephone calls and manage them per property policies. * Take messages as needed and ensure timely and accurate message delivery. * Receive incoming mail and distribute it according to property policies. * Greet visitors at the residence’s main entrance, adhering to security procedures and protocol. * Announce visitors as required to property members. * Offer beverages as needed. * Assist the House Manager with setting up service areas to maintain smooth, uninterrupted service. * Serve during meal services. * Support the House Manager in operating all A/V and communication systems (telephone / Internet / security / etc.) across the property, ensuring uninterrupted service. * Assist the House Manager with inspecting the residence’s cleanliness and collaborate with the team to ensure the home is always ready for occupancy. * During maintenance and renovation, assist the House Manager with property security by supervising external vendors and being present in construction zones. Escort contractors to and from their designated work areas. * Assist with inventory management. * Ensure common areas remain in good condition, including refilling pens/paper beside telephones, emptying ashtrays, and assisting floor staff with general area cleaning. * Support the House Manager with bar area supply and maintenance. Order and store beverages as needed. * Assist with other tasks as deemed necessary. * Deliver exceptional and memorable service. * Bid farewell to guests with a smile. Requirements: * Minimum five years of experience in a similar role. * Passion for hospitality. * Ability to work effectively within a team. * Ability to focus on guest needs while maintaining composure and courtesy at all times. * Proactive, flexible, positive, discreet, creative individual with excellent communication and stress-management skills, highly organized and solution-oriented. * High-level English proficiency is essential; Spanish (Castilian) is also required. * Availability to work either morning or afternoon shifts. During the low season, work is typically Monday–Friday mornings; during the high season, afternoon shifts with rotating holidays apply. * Residence in the Maresme or Barcelona area.
