Join our Web Languages team! **Description** --------------- A JavaScript Engineer at Igalia may work in a variety of technologies related to compilers and runtimes, and may contribute to V8, JavaScriptCore, SpiderMonkey, and Node.js. Our recent work includes: * Standardizing and implementing JavaScript features, such as BigInt, Temporal and new class features among others. * Developing support for WebAssembly features in web engines, such as Exception Handling. * Maintaining JavaScriptCore support for embedded applications. * Improving V8 integration in Node.js for better performance, memory safety, and traceability. * Improving Node.js module loading interoperability to increase ES Module adoption in the JavaScript ecosystem. In this position, you will have the chance to help improve the state of the art in JavaScript engines and runtimes, and also help advance open source and free software technologies. You will be working in a highly collaborative, diverse, and globally distributed team which includes members in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Our team will provide the mentorship needed to get you involved in our implementation efforts or standardization advocacy for programming languages. The work we do in the Web Languages Team involves collaborating on large\-scale software projects written in C/C\+\+; designing, implementing, and maintaining programming language features and runtime features; and working in various aspects of web programming standardization (e.g., tests, specifications, advocacy, and so on). We do not have strict requirements for this position, but having either a willingness to learn or any existing skills and experience in these areas would be beneficial.
