The position
We are seeking to hire an Accounting and Tax Technician for our administration and finance department, currently composed of two people. The hire will report directly to the finance director.
We are especially interested in a candidate with solid knowledge of corporate taxation and prior experience in accounting/tax advisory firms or accounting-tax departments of companies, accustomed to working rigorously, meeting deadlines, and handling high volumes. Experience in real estate, construction, or professional services companies will be valued.
Responsibilities
**Accounting and closing**
* Record and supervise the firm’s daily accounting: general ledger, invoicing, and banking.
* Prepare monthly and annual financial closings.
* Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
* Assist in processing the company’s annual audit.
**Taxation**
* Prepare and file periodic tax returns: VAT, withholding taxes, and Corporate Income Tax.
* Ensure compliance with current tax and accounting regulations.
* Respond to tax-related requests and resolve tax incidents.
**Supplier invoices**
* Track and validate supplier invoices related to projects and the firm’s general expenses.
* Resolve administrative incidents associated with those invoices.
* Work with the ERP system used by the firm.
**Support to management**
* Prepare financial, cost, and profitability reports.
* Propose improvements to internal processes for invoicing, expense control, and project tracking.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting and financial administration.
* Prior experience in accounting/tax advisory firms or in the finance department of a company.
* Proficiency in corporate taxation: VAT (forms 303 and 390), withholding taxes (forms 111, 115, and 190), and Corporate Income Tax (forms 200 and 202).
* Demonstrable experience in monthly and annual financial closings, bank reconciliations, and preparation of financial reports.
* Proficiency in an accounting ERP system and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* University degree in Business Administration and Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or higher vocational training in Administration and Finance with equivalent experience.
* Organized, meticulous, and detail-oriented profile.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, and project managers.
Preferred qualifications
* Proficiency in Sage50.
* Prior experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or technical consulting firms.
* Accounting and administrative management of corporate groups comprising multiple entities.
* Knowledge of accounting and taxation specific to real estate developments.
* Experience in economic monitoring and cost control of projects.
* Intra-EU transaction reporting (form 349).
* Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and project management software.
* Intermediate level of English or another language for interaction with international suppliers and clients.
