Impact on products with high operational and decision-making demands This role exists to ensure that when the product moves beyond a demo, the interface does not become the bottleneck. That means designing for asynchronous states before animations; for errors communicated clearly before smooth transitions; for real data before beautiful mocks; for performance measured in milliseconds before elegant Storybook components. It’s not that the second item in each pair doesn’t matter. It does. But it comes after the first—not before. Products where the interface is treated as decorative layering rather than a first-class product quickly reveal themselves when real data arrives and visual hierarchy fails to support the type of decision the user must make. What you’ll build are complex operational interfaces—dashboards, geospatial visualization, timelines, document management, and copilots integrated into workflow—where the criterion is clarity under load, not abstract aesthetics. We build for clients operating in contexts of high operational and decision-making demand, where auditability, integration with verifiable sources, and human approval mechanisms for sensitive tasks are not features—they’re the foundation. We are in the foundational phase. People joining now define the architecture, code, and technical culture the company will inherit for years to come. **The Role and Why It Exists** ----------------------------- You’ll have ownership of the product from the user’s perspective: complex operational interfaces for decision-making environments—dashboards, geospatial visualization, timelines, document management, and copilots integrated into workflow. The reason this role exists is concrete: product value is delivered through the interface. If asynchronous states are poorly handled, if errors are ambiguous, if visualizations lag, or if visual hierarchy fails to support the type of decision the user must make, the product ceases to be useful precisely when it should be most valuable. Closing that loop between complex data and clear experience is the work. You’ll also set the standard for operational UX that the rest of the team follows: how partial states are represented, how errors are communicated, how hierarchy is designed when many things happen simultaneously, when to use polling versus streaming, and how performance is sustained with large datasets. **What You’ll Build in the First 6 Months.** --------------------------------------------------- * The product’s frontend architecture: component structure, state management, patterns for asynchronous data, error handling, and user feedback. * Dashboards and complex data visualization—with judgment on what to represent, how, and when. No decorative dashboards. * Geospatial interfaces and timelines that withstand real datasets without degrading experience. * Robust document upload and management systems—with visible progress, error handling, resumable uploads, and validation. * Copilot integration into workflow: streaming outputs, intermediate states, model error handling, and visible human approval points. * Serious client-side performance: bundle size, lazy loading, virtualization, real-world load and response metrics—not “it feels fast on my machine”. * Accessibility as a baseline requirement, not an afterthought. **How We Work** --------------------- We work in person in Madrid. This is a deliberate decision: in the foundational phase, iteration speed and quality of technical decisions made around a shared whiteboard are difficult to replicate remotely. We operate with minimal process and maximum responsibility. Whoever designs a component also maintains it when real data breaks assumptions. Whoever defines a state pattern also defends it in code review. We do not treat frontend as a paint layer over backend—it is a first-class product, with its own owners, metrics, and trade-offs. Quality is judged by reality: Does this withstand real data? Does the user understand what’s happening when something fails? Does performance hold up with large datasets? Is it accessible? If the answer to any is “no”, back to the whiteboard. **What We’re Looking For** ------------------ More than a rigid profile, we seek demonstrable competencies: * Proven track record building complex product interfaces—not marketing sites, not landing pages, not decorative dashboards. Products where users perform real tasks with real data. * Strong production-level mastery of React, Next.js, and TypeScript. * Deep experience with asynchronous states, error states, retries, streaming, and polling—and knowing when to use which. * Prior work with complex dashboards and data visualization (D3, visx, Plot, Recharts or equivalents), geospatial interfaces (Mapbox, MapLibre, Leaflet or equivalents), and timelines. * Operational UX sensitivity: you understand that visual hierarchy, information density, and feedback states are product decisions—not aesthetic ones. * Serious client-side performance: bundle size, lazy loading, virtualization, accessibility—tools for measurement and judgment on their use. * Reasonable frontend testing: component, integration, and end-to-end tests where they deliver real value. * Professional-level Spanish, tied to the nature of the role, and functional English to collaborate in a bilingual team. **Bonus Points If** ------------------ * You’ve worked with chat interfaces or copilots integrated into products—token streaming, tool call handling, intermediate states. * You have experience with advanced geospatial visualization or timelines synchronized with other components. * You come from data-heavy or operational products: fintech, healthtech, observability, analytics, decision-support, command-and-control. * You’ve collaborated closely with product and design on defining states and flows—not just implementation. * You hold a technical opinion on design systems and have contributed to building or evolving one. **What Likely Won’t Fit** ---------------------------------- To save mutual time, this role is likely not the best fit if: * Your experience centers on marketing sites, landing pages, or simple dashboards without product logic. * Asynchronous states, errors, and intermediate states feel secondary to visual design. * Working with complex data, maps, or serious visualization feels outside your comfort zone. * Performance, accessibility, and testing feel like accessories. **Compensation** ---------------- **Salary:** €58,000 – €68,000 gross annually, based on demonstrated experience and validated seniority level. **Equity:** Equity package commensurate with the role and company stage. **Employment Type:** Full-time, indefinite, 100% in-person in Madrid. **Data Protection** ----------------------- Personal data you share during the process (CV, contact details, professional information, communications, and information provided in interviews) will be processed by Naiian solely to manage your application for this position and, if you provide explicit consent, for future selection processes compatible with your profile.
