We are looking for an energetic and committed **Kitchen Assistant** to join the team at **Restaurante Canorín las Flores** in **Santa Cruz de Bezana (Cantabria)**. We are a modern, welcoming, and highly regarded establishment in the area, known for our terrace, homemade cuisine, and uniquely family-oriented atmosphere. Your role will be essential in supporting our kitchen operations, including preparation of the daily menu and plating of our full menu offerings. **Responsibilities and duties:** * **Preparation of essential ingredients** for our traditional kitchen (washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables, as well as organizing portions). * **Kitchen support:** Actively assist in preparing simple homemade dishes and support efficient plating of traditional portions during peak service hours. * **Hygiene and cleaning:** Maintain strict cleanliness and disinfection of utensils, equipment, and work areas, fully complying with current food hygiene and sanitation regulations. * **Stock management:** Receive goods and store them correctly in refrigerated chambers and pantries to maximize ingredient freshness. **Candidate profile:** * **Proven experience:** Minimum **1 year of experience** working as a kitchen assistant in bars, traditional restaurants, or establishments with high-volume portion and daily menu service. * **Technical competencies:** Proficiency in knife handling, cutting machinery, and operational control of grills and fryers during peak service hours. * **Valid food handler’s certificate** * **Personal skills:** Strong ability to work under pressure, speed in order execution, proactive attitude, punctuality, and a strong sense of teamwork. * **Availability:** Flexibility to adapt to restaurant shifts (while respecting fixed days off: **all Mondays and Sunday afternoons**). **What we offer:** * **Stable contract** in an established business with an exceptional working environment. * **Competitive salary**, commensurate with experience (under the Cantabria Hospitality Collective Agreement). * The restaurant is closed on Sunday afternoons and Mondays for staff rest. * Opportunity to join a hospitality team deeply cherished and respected by the local community.
