Description
At Rosa Clará, we are seeking experienced tailors specializing in haute couture to join our workshops in Barcelona and become part of a team passionate about excellence and elegance.
The haute couture tailor will construct the gown under the supervision of the product design and pattern-making team for the collection, following prescribed steps, implementing adjustments, and approving the final pattern. Proficiency is required on flat-bed sewing machines, overlock machines, and bar tack machines, as well as manual craftsmanship skills for artistic tasks including, but not limited to, hand-sewing, hand-applied embellishments, and hand embroidery.
Typical responsibilities:
* Sewing all types of fabrics for garment construction—from delicate fabrics such as lace and beading, lightweight fabrics such as crepe, chiffon, or tulle, to structured sewing fabrics such as brocade, satin, mikado, etc.
* Execution and production of high-quality artistic textile work, including but not limited to handmade flowers, machine bar tacking, beadwork sewing, and lace appliqué.
* Pattern-making knowledge is valued.
* Attendance at collection fittings to understand and assist in implementing required modifications.
* Measuring clients or models to ensure proper fit.
* Fabric cutting, execution of sewing steps, and full construction of gowns.
* Operation of overlock machines, industrial sewing machines, pressing, and finishing.
* Hand stitching, zipper installation, basting, etc.
* Sewing responsibilities include full end-to-end construction of unique custom garments, as well as small-batch production and prototypes.
* Adherence to the production schedule and meeting required deadlines.
**Requirements:**
* Minimum 3 years of full-time experience sewing samples/garments.
* Formal training in pattern cutting and garment construction.
* Proven experience in custom bridal gown sewing is essential.
* Experience working for haute couture houses is highly desirable.
* Responsible, solution-oriented, quality-focused individual.
* Attention to detail, creativity, and teamwork orientation.
* Diverse textile knowledge and sewing skills.
