Independently coordinate research projects and budgets **Position Summary** The Microbiologist and In Vitro Fermentation Specialist is responsible for researching and discovering innovative solutions to address industry challenges related to controlling microbial populations in the environmental and health aspects of animal production. Additionally, this position involves co\-developing and implementing in vitro models for monogastric animals, working alongside our current In Vitro Fermentation Specialist coordinator. **Essential Functions****Key Responsibilities:*** Conduct classical microbiology methods (plate culturing, MIC/MBC, ELISA, anaerobic culturing) * Set up multi\-stage in vitro gastrointestinal models * Identify compounds to address animal production needs * Clearly communicate research design and findings * Develop SOPs for research methodologies * Independently coordinate research projects and budgets * Support R\&D research pipeline development * Prepare and publish manuscripts **Qualifications****Minimum Required:*** Familiarity and readiness to work in a small laboratory * Demonstrated ability to operate independently as a microbiologist * Experience with database compilation * Skill in designing, developing, and implementing innovative research methods * Competency in troubleshooting and resolving challenges related to microbiological techniques * Attention to detail to maintain data accuracy and reliability * Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments and with stakeholders * Preferred background in using statistical software * Capability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial statements, and legal documents * Ability to present information clearly to senior management, public audiences, scientific colleagues, and customers * Proficiency in managing challenging situations and conflicts with fairness and neutrality * Effective verbal and written communication skills in English **Preferred:*** Master or Doctorate in Microbiology **Work Environment and Physical Requirements**The work environment characteristics are those consistent with a standard Laboratory environment. Positions in this class typically require typing, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. **Schedule Requirements** This position is scheduled during regular business hours. The role could include working in different time zones with internal and external customers. **Travel Requirements** Employee is required to travel to fulfill job duties. Schedule and amount set by management and employee.
