




Job Summary: Physiotherapist at a day care center for older adults, focused on maintaining and improving functional autonomy and preventing complications. Key Responsibilities: 1. Maintain and enhance users' physical activity and functional autonomy 2. Collaborate with other team professionals 3. Encourage participation in physiotherapy and psychomotor activities In general, physiotherapy addresses functional mobility issues presented by users—in this case, the physical capacities of day care center users. As these are older adults with various pathologies, physical deterioration typically leads to loss or reduction of their functional autonomy. This is where the physiotherapist’s role becomes essential within the day care center. The physiotherapist’s overall objective is to restore, stimulate, or maintain functional autonomy through physical capacity training (aerobic, coordinative, etc.) and prevent complications, as well as manage potential pain conditions. • Assess and propose the need for technical aids (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.), advising on their use in coordination with the rest of the team. • Assess, design, fabricate, adapt, and monitor orthoses in coordination with the occupational therapist, as applicable. • Develop individualized environmental adaptation guidelines for each person, both in personal and community settings, in collaboration with the rest of the team. • Maintain and promote physical activity and exercise for all users. • Enhance and maintain functional autonomy in ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). • Maintain and achieve the highest possible functional capacity for each user. • Improve or resolve individual physical problems identified during initial and periodic assessments. • Maximize user participation in physiotherapy and psychomotor activities. • Provide appropriate guidelines for users’ physical and functional well-being, addressed both to day care center staff and to family members. • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure maximum comfort for individuals during end-of-life care using physiotherapy-specific techniques. • Ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations regarding service users and respect for the right to privacy. • Respect interpersonal customs and cultural diversity among service users. * Experience: 1 year minimum.
