Veolia, a multinational environmental services group, is seeking to hire an Energy Projects Engineer in Barcelona for its Energy Division within the Technical Office. The role focuses on designing and preparing energy service proposals (decarbonization, photovoltaics, biomass, biogas, energy storage, energy flexibility, energy efficiency, energy resilience, etc.) for industrial, healthcare, and tertiary sectors, with particular emphasis during the first year on connecting new industrial, tertiary, and residential customers to Ecoenergies Barcelona’s district heating and cooling network as part of commercial development activities. In general, the role involves performing technical and economic studies within the Technical Office throughout the lifecycle of assigned energy projects — from initial site visits with the project’s commercial manager, through joint solution development with the Technical Office and support functions, to final award of the proposed energy services. Key responsibilities include: * Collection and analysis of technical and economic data. * Design, calculations, energy balance assessments, consumption and power requirement projections, and simulations. * Preparation of technical\-economic feasibility studies, including: + Avoided cost analyses (comparing the client’s current costs versus those of the proposed solution) and result evaluation. + Economic analyses and business plans (including financing, if required). + Preparation of commercial proposals in collaboration with the commercial manager for each project. * Specifically for Ecoenergies projects: + Management and supervision of external engineering firms for technical solution quotations, covering both network extensions and new connections, as well as modifications to the client’s secondary circuit (substations, etc.). + Supervision of compliance with the Ecoenergies Technical Guide during new customer connection activities, including the project phase involving engineering firms and/or architectural practices. The role operates within a multidisciplinary environment and forms part of the Technical Office team, working closely with the Business Development Directorate. Support will be provided by various disciplines within the Technical Office team, as well as by the Corporate Technical Directorate.
