**NanoChronia is hiring: Software/Telecommunications Engineer** **Location:** Tarragona, Spain \| **Position:** Full\-time **About Us** NanoChronia is a deep\-tech company developing next\-generation gas sensor systems. Our mission is to bring advanced sensing technologies from the laboratory to certified commercial products, combining nanomaterials, electronics, and IoT integration. **The Role** We are seeking a **Software/Telecommunications Engineer** to strengthen our R\&D team. The role involves the development of embedded firmware, IoT architectures, and system integration to enable reliable deployment of our sensor platforms at scale. The position is ideally suited for candidates with a background in electronic or telecommunications engineering and a master’s degree in software or equivalent experience. **Key Responsibilities** Develop and maintain embedded software for microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32 or similar). Program in C/C\+\+ and Python with clean architecture and modular design principles. Design and implement IoT system architectures for sensor deployment at scale. Configure and optimize communication protocols, especially LoRaWAN (OTAA, uplink/downlink, payload optimization, gateway configuration). Integrate devices with LoRaWAN servers such as The Things Stack (TTN/TTI) or equivalent. Contribute to system\-level design decisions, including architecture, scalability, and deployment. Use version control (Git) and contribute to CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electronics, materials, data science). **Qualifications** Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Software Engineering (Master in Software or equivalent is highly valued). Proven experience with embedded platforms such as ESP32, STM32, or similar. Strong programming skills in C/C\+\+ and Python. Experience with development environments (Arduino, PlatformIO, ESP\-IDF, or equivalent). Solid understanding of software design patterns and layered architectures. Experience with LoRaWAN protocols and IoT deployments. Familiarity with version control and collaborative development (Git, CI/CD). Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
