Symrise – always inspiring more… **About the Role** We are looking for a **Junior PCS7 Programmer** to join the Automation Department at a chemical sector plant. You will be part of a dynamic team, working closely with key areas such as electrical engineering, production, and process optimization. Your mission will be to contribute to the development, improvement, and maintenance of distributed control systems (DCS) that ensure the efficiency and safety of the factory. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals with a solid technical foundation, curiosity, and a strong desire to learn and grow in the exciting world of industrial automation and process control within a leading company in its sector. **Key Responsibilities:** * Collaborate in programming and commissioning Siemens PCS7 systems, working with CFC, SFC, technology blocks, and libraries to ensure efficient and safe processes. * Support maintenance and optimization of existing control systems (DCS/PLC, HMI/SCADA), contributing to continuous improvement in the plant. * Make adjustments and improvements to control logic, alarms, trends, and operation screens under senior team supervision, ensuring system reliability. * Participate in FAT/SAT tests, simulations, and validations for new projects or process changes, ensuring proper implementation. * Assist in troubleshooting automation issues on\-site, working closely with operations and maintenance to guarantee production continuity. * Document software changes and prepare basic manuals, signal lists, diagrams, and functional schematics to maintain traceability and compliance. * Drive continuous improvement projects such as standardization, alarm reduction, interlock optimization, and control loop enhancements to improve overall efficiency. **About You** * Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred). Candidates with degrees in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with experience in the chemical sector, as well as Higher Technical Certifications in related fields, will also be considered. * Experience: 3–4 years performing similar functions in industrial environments. * Experience using Siemens PCS7 System software. Knowledge of TIA Portal and/or SIMATIC S7 will be an advantage. * Knowledge in process control concepts (PIDs, cascade loops, interlocks, sequences), instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, valves, drives), industrial communications (PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Industrial Ethernet), office tools (Excel, Word, Visio), and virtualization (ESXi) will be valued. * Previous experience in PLC/DCS programming, work in industrial environments (chemical, food, pharmaceutical), basic knowledge of SCADA systems (WinCC / WinCC Unified or others), and familiarity with databases, MES, or SAP integration will be valued. * Languages: Spanish is a mandatory requirement.
