**Our Exciting Opportunity:** The Operations and Programs (O\&P) unit within Ericsson's Cognitive Software Engineering (CSE) is seeking a highly motivated AI Automation Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team. You will play a pivotal role in process automation and the development of AI agents to automate CSE operations, improve efficiency and reshape CSE’s processes and ways of working throughout the software development lifecycle. If you thrive in collaborative, agile environments, have a growth mindset, and are ready to solve concrete business operation problems by implementing AI\-driven solutions and fundamentally redesign how we work in software engineering to enhance efficiency and decision quality, we encourage you to apply. **What you will do** * **Build and prototype automation solutions** using both traditional automation methods (Python scripts, REST APIs, data extraction workflows) and GenAI/Agentic AI approaches * **Develop simple integrations and APIs** to collect, transform, and automate the flow of data across tools such as Jira, Confluence, CI/CD systems, repositories, or internal Ericsson platforms — enabling smoother reporting and operational visibility * **Explore and experiment leveraging existing GenAI tools** (e.g. AWS Q Developer, KIRO CLI) to create lightweight AI agents that improve decision\-making, automate routine tasks, or accelerate software engineering workflows * **Iterate on prompts, automation logic, and orchestration flows** to improve reliability, accuracy, and output quality — whether in AI\-driven solutions or API\-based automation. * **Support the evolution of prototypes into stable, reliable solutions**, gradually learning how to add error handling, observability, logging, and basics of monitoring * **Work closely with O\&P team and key stakeholders in DevOps teams** to understand operational pain points and identify new opportunities for automation * **Stay up to date with the fast\-moving landscape of GenAI and agentic technologies**, sharing insights and proposing new ideas to challenge conventional ways of working within the unit. **You will bring** Technical skills: * Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, data science or related fields * Basic hands\-on experience in Python or Java for scripting / workflow automation and data handling * Curiosity and willingness to learn how to build simple APIs or integrations (REST, JSON processing) to extract or automate data flows across tools * Interest or early experience with Generative AI, agentic frameworks, RAG pipelines.
