**Job Description** **Who will you work with?** You will be part of the Quality team and report to the Quality Manager. You will support quality initiatives across the company, contributing to ensuring compliance with customer requirements, regulations, and company expectations. **How will you make a difference?** As a **Quality Technician**, you will be responsible for managing supplier quality activities, coordinating rubber compound approvals and documentation, and maintaining the International Material Data System (IMDS). **What will your day-to-day look like?** * Implement the company’s Quality Policy internally and externally, ensuring compliance among your subordinates. * Support Quality Management: document control and distribution, customer complaint management, return management. * Collaborate on laboratory tasks, providing necessary technical support to ensure smooth execution (measuring and testing equipment – calibration, equipment studies, software, documentation). * Train laboratory support staff regarding functions described in the corresponding laboratory job description document. * Procure laboratory materials through purchasing. * Distribute, control, and archive accepted external documents (standards, specifications…), excluding drawings. * Update the list of external documents. * Perform dimensional inspection of parts, including samples and series production parts if required. * Carry out work in accordance with applicable standards, procedures, requirements, and instructions of the company’s current environmental management system. * Ensure full confidentiality regarding products contracted by our customers and, especially, related information. SUPPLIER QUALITY * Serve as the quality contact person for suppliers: suggestions, inquiries, complaints. * Manage supplier complaints based on data provided by the Laboratory, Shift Supervisors, and other sources arising from production. * Prepare documentation related to raw materials: material specifications, control plans, forms, etc. * Supplier qualification, coordinated with the Purchasing Department. * Supplier sample qualification. Control and archiving of such qualifications. RUBBER COMPOUNDS * Serve as the technical contact person for rubber compound suppliers. * New compounds: coordinate development of new compounds with the supplier. * Compound management: documentation of active and obsolete compounds, qualification, requirements, characteristics, compound dossiers. * Support production regarding rubber compounds: analyze rubbers causing issues in presses. IMDS * Enter data for Longwood Elastomers, S.A. parts. * Accept or reject data related to our raw materials submitted by our suppliers. * Manage MDS (Material Data Sheets): history of MDS status and parts pending entry into the system. **Requirements** **What are we looking for in you?** * Higher Vocational Training Degree in Analysis and Quality Control Laboratory or related fields. * Valuable experience of at least 2 years in similar roles. * Experience in manufacturing companies (automotive, rail, or industrial environments). * Technical experience with measuring and testing equipment – calibration, equipment studies, software, documentation. * Fluent Spanish and minimum B1 English. * Strong organizational and communication skills. * Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. **Additional Information** **What could you achieve in a place where people come first?** At Wabtec, it’s not just about a job — it’s about the impact you make.
