A bellhop/doorman proactively adapts their approach based on each guest’s cues and needs to determine the best way to assist them. Whether greeting guests, delivering luggage to the designated location inside or outside the hotel, or ensuring guests have what they need to reach their destination, bellhops/doormen facilitate such interactions so seamlessly that they feel like part of the overall experience. Regardless of the role you hold, several fundamental principles are essential for success—for example, creating a safe work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures, respecting confidentiality, protecting company assets, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring professional appearance, personal grooming, and communication at all times. Bellhops/doormen are constantly on the move—they stand, sit, walk extensively, and perform various tasks (moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects weighing 25 pounds or less unassisted; reaching upward, kneeling, twisting, stretching, and bending). It is essential that bellhops/doormen perform their duties to the best of their ability (and other reasonable tasks as requested) to ensure guest stay success and our business success.
