Frontend Engineer WayOps is looking for a Frontend Engineer who wants to continue growing professionally by participating in the development of cutting-edge applications within a technical environment, emphasizing code quality, user experience in conversational interfaces, and the use of the latest technologies in the React ecosystem. PROJECT & TEAM You will be part of strategic corporate application development initiatives for one of our key international clients in the pharmaceutical sector. The project focuses on building interfaces for chatbots, AI agents, and AI products, where real-time interaction and usability are critical. You will join a multidisciplinary technical team composed of frontend and backend developers, AI engineers, and DevOps professionals at various seniority levels, coordinated by a technical lead. The team operates in a highly collaborative manner, with code reviews, modern methodologies, and a strong focus on building reusable components for AI products. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the visible face of AI agents, actively contributing to the definition of conversational flows and ensuring that data model complexity translates into a smooth, intuitive, and responsive user experience (UI/UX). ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for frontend development of modern applications using the React ecosystem, actively engaging in tasks such as: * Development of complex user interfaces and SPAs using React and Next.js * Implementation of UIs for chatbots and AI agents, managing real-time interaction (response streaming) and application state * Close collaboration with backend and design teams to integrate APIs and cognitive services * Building scalable and reusable component libraries * Participation in defining and improving UI/UX specific to AI products * Optimizing application performance and loading times * Collaborating on code reviews and continuous software improvement While technical support and code reviews will be available, you are expected to manage your tasks autonomously and proactively contribute to continuous product improvement. REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE To be considered for this role, you must have at least two years of hands-on frontend development experience with React in production environments. Essential skills and knowledge include: * Solid experience developing web applications with React and the Next.js framework * Experience managing global state and consuming REST APIs * Strong sense of interface design and usability (UI/UX) * Regular use of Git in collaborative environments * Attention to detail and adherence to frontend development best practices **Additionally, the following will be considered advantageous:** * Experience using the Vercel AI SDK or integrating with LLMs * Familiarity with Node.js or backend integration experience * Experience in data visualization (charts, dashboards) * Experience working on projects using agile methodologies such as Scrum * Interest in AI applied to frontend development (chatbots, content generation, etc.) * Knowledge of web performance optimization and accessibility CONTRACT & LOCATION This engagement will preferably be structured as an independent contractor arrangement, with annual contracts and tacit renewal, within a long-term project designed to offer stability and continuity. For candidates demonstrating exceptional technical or cultural fit, permanent employment with an indefinite contract may be considered. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week). The project requires close collaboration with the team, necessitating a hybrid work model (attending the client’s offices located in Madrid/Sanchinarro three days per week) to facilitate communication and drive project momentum.
