**Job Description** **Who will you work with?** Fanox, part of Wabtec Corporation, is located in Derio, Spain, and designs and manufactures relays for medium-voltage applications. **How will you make a difference?** As an **Application Engineer**, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of the equipment we design, working closely with our customers. **What will your day-to-day look like?** * Validate internally designed equipment: functional testing, fault analysis, equipment operation, and communication protocols. * Maintain up-to-date technical documentation: manuals, test instructions, application notes, etc. * Lead and participate in approval processes. * Participate in specifying various functions and communications (protocols) for the development of new products. * Deliver technical training—both in-person and online—to our national and international customers on the operation of our equipment. * Review customer technical specifications, both for protection and communications. * Respond to technical inquiries, both external and internal. **What are we looking for in you?** * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering * More than 5 years of experience in a similar role * Knowledge of power system topology and ability to perform electrical calculations. * Experience with protection relays and their validation * Knowledge of substation communication protocols, including Serial Communication (Modbus RTU, DNP3.0 Serial, IEC103), Ethernet and TCP/IP (Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3.0 TCP/IP), telecontrol (IEC101, IEC104, etc.), and IEC61850—including interoperability with the network and communication with system masters (SCADA, RTUs, …). * Experience in writing technical documentation and reports * Ability to interact with customers from diverse global regions and cultures, effectively manage their requirements, and deliver high-quality technical support. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team while maintaining autonomy to manage responsibilities efficiently and proactively Willingness and ability to travel. *Legal authorization to work in the EU is required.
