Provide hands-on technical leadership in design, support, and release processes. **Job Requirements** We are looking for an SCADA Platform Engineer to work on exciting projects with high business impact. The role will entail working as part of a global team towards design \& development of SCADA products for renewable energy domain and contributes to design discussions, immediate team and to other teams across business. **Essential Responsibilities:** **In this role, you will:** * Focus on critical evaluation, selection and validation of the software and hardware components of the SCADA infrastructure. * Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for SCADA infrastructure. * Apply principles of Lean/Agile and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices and Testing Techniques. * Work with fellow team members to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions. * Provide expertise in the quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for SCADA platform projects. * Expert in writing PowerShell code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality. * Provide hands\-on technical leadership in design and support of VMware, Microsoft and Linux servers. * Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems. * Promotes transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness. * Provide hands\-on leadership in release of subcomponents of SCADA products within product life cycle tool. **Basic Qualifications:** * Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or in Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Electrical/ Power Systems. * IT Infrastructure knowledge, e.g. Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification. * Clear understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, e.g. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification (recommend). * Clear understanding of IP networks and DoD network model. * Clear understanding of Microsoft Hyper\-V and VMware ESXi. * Clear understanding of relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL. * Sound knowledge in Microsoft PowerShell and Linux bash. * Good written and verbal communication skills and working in global team environment. **Desired Characteristics:** **Technical Expertise:** * Understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals * Understands concepts of setting and driving architecture direction * Familiar with elements of gathering architecture requirements * Understands architecture standards concepts to apply to project work * Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting edge and/or large\-scale distributed systems * In\-depth knowledge of operating systems (processes, threads, concurrency issues, locks, mutexes, semaphores, monitors and how they work) * Experience in working on Linux/Unix, Microsoft Windows and VMware environments. * Experience of working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/validation infrastructure * Knowledge of Renewable Energy Domain, especially Wind and hands on with Mark 6e controllers and related software would be an added plus * Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server/ PostgreSQL and or other SQL/non\-SQL databases would be a plus **Business Acumen:** * Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems * Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts * Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends * Understand key cross\-functional concepts that impact the organization * Is aware of business priorities and organizational dynamics **Leadership:** * Coaches and mentors team members * Familiar with concepts of costing hardware and software components. Escalates issues that impact the client and/or strategic initiatives * Systematic problem\-solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive * You should have willingness to work with Flexible working hours to facilitate communication with global teams/ team members. **Work Experience** **Roles and Responsibilities** **In this role, you will:** * **Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network related issues, both hardware and software, ensuring minimal downtime.** * **Layer 2 \& Layer 3 Support: Provide troubleshooting support for routing and switching environments.** * **UTM Firewall Management: Work with UTM firewalls to update security and traffic polices, debug traffic flows and firewall rules.** * **Network Configuration Validation: Review and validate network configurations to ensure they align with company standards and best practices.** * **Performance Monitoring: Utilize network monitoring tools to validate the health and performance of all network systems.** * **Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate network documentation, including configurations and diagrams to accurately depict steady state information.** * **Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members, vendors and customers located throughout the world.** * **Incident Response: Act as a point of contact for resolving network related incidents and outages. (There is no requirement for on call support)** **Required Skills and Experience:** * **Certifications: At least CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent certification. Certifications in security, OS, and automation are a plus.** * **Experience: Minimum of 2\-3 years in a network support or help desk role, ideally with exposure to enterprise or datacenter environments.** * **Strong understanding of layer 2 and layer 3 technologies and protocols.** * **In\-depth knowledge of TCP, UDP, Multicast, and Network Virtualization.** * **Vendor agonistic knowledge across firewall technologies.** * **Analytical problems solving skills.** * **Experience with network performance monitoring, scripting languages and automation (Docker, Python, Ansible) is a plus.** * **Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex IT issues to nontechnical stakeholders.** **Education Qualification** * **A 2 year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.** * **A 4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.** **CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)** **Benefits** Not applicable
