BNP Paribas Personal Finance employs 20,000 people serving over 20 million customers. **ABOUT THE POSITION** ------------------- MISSION At Cetelem, we are looking for a Risk Intern with a strong analytical profile to join the Risk Analytics team — a cornerstone of the bank’s digital transformation and risk governance. The role focuses on data analysis, model monitoring, and generation of risk intelligence to enhance strategic decision-making in areas such as credit risk, fraud, recoveries, and emerging risks. RESPONSIBILITIES * Analyze credit portfolios (primarily retail) and risk assessment models (scorecards, PD/LGD/EAD models, IFRS 9 provisions, etc.). * Develop dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and early-warning indicators for credit and operational risks. * Apply statistical and machine learning techniques for customer segmentation, default prediction, and optimization of risk policies. * Participate in model validation, backtesting, and documentation for internal and regulatory audits (ECB, EBA, Bank of Spain, etc.). * Analyze internal and external data to identify risk patterns and emerging trends. * Develop and maintain dashboards, automated reports, and statistical models supporting decision-making. * Propose and optimize quantitative-based risk mitigation strategies. * Collaborate with BI, data engineering, and product teams to align analytical models with business needs. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. REQUIREMENTS * Education University degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or related field. * Languages Professional spoken and written French (technical documentation and communication with global stakeholders) is valued. Spoken and written English (technical documentation and communication with global stakeholders). COMPETENCIES * Technical Proficiency in SQL and preferably a statistical programming language (Python, R, SAS). Familiarity with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). Familiarity with credit risk concepts, scorecards, customer segmentation, etc. * Cross-functional & Behavioral Ability to synthesize and communicate findings clearly and effectively. Teamwork capability.
