Laundry Operator

Description

The primary responsibility of this position is the handling and processing of clothing within an industrial environment. This includes receiving, sorting, and preparing garments according to their fabric composition, color, and degree of soiling, prior to washing them in high-capacity machines. The operator will be responsible for loading and unloading industrial washing and drying machines, adjusting cycles and programs specifically according to fabric type. Once drying is complete, garments must be ironed using industrial ironers or manual techniques as required, and subsequently folded and packaged in accordance with established standards. In addition, a constant inspection of garment condition is required to ensure quality control, identifying possible damage or residual stains before final packaging. Activities also include accurate labeling of each order and preparation for dispatch, ensuring that every batch is correct and ready for distribution. It is essential to maintain a high standard of order and cleanliness in the work area, as well as strict compliance with all applicable hygiene, safety, and occupational risk prevention regulations. The work environment is dynamic and requires attention to detail to guarantee process efficiency and end-customer satisfaction. Processed garments may belong to diverse clients, including hotels, hospitals, or restaurants; therefore, care and precision are key aspects. The operator will be part of a team whose objective is to optimize productivity while maintaining service quality. Organization of workflow is essential to effectively and safely manage large volumes. Working hours are from Monday to Friday, with two possible shifts: 6:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00, rotating weekly between them. Availability to work one Saturday per month is required, depending on the center’s operational needs. The position includes supervision and enforcement of all applicable industrial safety and hygiene regulations. The work environment is an industrial facility equipped with specialized machinery for washing and ironing large volumes of clothing. Demonstrable experience as an operator in industrial environments is required, preferably in the laundry or textile sector. Practical knowledge of garment washing and ironing techniques, as well as the ability to operate industrial machinery, is necessary. The minimum educational requirement is completion of primary education. A functional level of Spanish is required to understand instructions and safety regulations. Demonstrated responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively under pressure are essential.
