DESCRIPTION We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive **Kitchen Assistant** to join our culinary team at ARTIEM Audax, located on the idyllic island of Menorca. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be a key cog in our kitchen’s machinery, working closely with the Chef and cooking team to ensure the preparation and presentation of exceptional dishes that delight our guests. Your role will be vital in maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency across all kitchen operations. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Assistance in preparation:** Assist in ingredient preparation (e.g., chopping vegetables, peeling, mincing, etc.) under the supervision of the assigned Chef or cook. * **Preparation of simple dishes:** Collaborate in preparing side dishes, salads, simple desserts, and other dishes assigned to you. * **Maintaining order and cleanliness:** Ensure constant cleaning and disinfection of work areas, utensils, equipment, and tableware, adhering to food hygiene and safety protocols (HACCP). * **Stock and warehouse management:** Assist in receiving, storing, and inventory control of raw materials and other kitchen supplies. * **Live cooking and events:** Support the team in buffet preparations, live cooking stations, and managing special events. * **Compliance with standards:** Ensure adherence to recipes, quality standards, and dish presentation as defined by the kitchen management. * **Teamwork:** Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, communicating effectively with all members of the kitchen and front-of-house teams. * **Other tasks:** Perform other related duties assigned by your supervisor. **Job Requirements:** * Proven experience of at least 1 year as a kitchen assistant in hotels, restaurants, or catering establishments. * Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food handling. * Familiarity with food hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP). * Ability to work in a dynamic environment and under pressure. * Positive attitude, proactivity, willingness to learn, and team spirit. * Flexible working hours and availability for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. * Residence in Menorca or ability to relocate. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Vocational training in Hospitality and Tourism or related field. * Knowledge of various cuisines. * Basic level of English or other languages. **What We Offer:** * Join a well-established and growing hotel company, a leader in the wellness sector. * Opportunity to become part of a young, dynamic, and gastronomy-passionate team. * Professional development and continuous training. * An excellent working environment in the privileged setting of Menorca. * Accommodation and meals. * Social benefits and exclusive employee discounts. **Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.** At ARTIEM, we believe in people—not labels.
