At Oxigent Technologies, we are seeking a **PLC Commissioning Engineer** to join automation and intralogistics projects, based in the **Barcelona area**.
The selected candidate will be responsible for commissioning automated systems, ensuring proper facility operation and collaborating closely with software, engineering, and end-customer teams.
This position requires availability for travel; however, projects are primarily conducted in Spain, and **business trips typically occur from Monday to Friday, allowing return to your usual residence each weekend.**
What will be your main responsibilities?
* Independently perform **PLC system and automated machinery commissioning** at domestic and international facilities.
* **Prepare all necessary documentation** for the commissioning phase: functional specifications, software, tools, and technical documentation.
* Execute integration and high-level interface testing (**MFS Interface Testing**).
* Ensure compliance with **occupational health and safety procedures** during installation and commissioning phases.
* **Identify issues, conduct technical diagnostics, and propose continuous improvements** to systems.
* Train the customer’s technical teams on facility operation.
* Collaborate with the Software Engineering department by providing technical feedback and updated documentation.
What qualifications do you need?
* Technical education (electrical engineering, mechatronics, or similar)
* **Minimum 3 years of experience** (preferably in logistics – intralogistics)
* Hands-on experience programming **PLCs** using **SIEMENS TIA Portal**, preferably FUP and **SCL**.
* Practical experience with **variable-speed drives** (three-phase asynchronous motors + servo motors; frequency converters)
* **Professional experience with fieldbus systems** (Ethernet, Profibus, **Profinet**, CAN, and ASi)
* **Conversational English (B2)**
* **High travel availability (60% of time)** – Projects are predominantly carried out in Spain, and travel usually occurs **Monday to Friday**, returning home over weekends.
* **Highly desirable:** Experience with **SIEMENS S7**
