**WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU**
We are seeking a **System Administrator** to join our Infrastructure team in Madrid. The selected candidate will participate in the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of Lynx’s technology infrastructure, with a particular focus on VMware virtualization environments and Linux systems. This role combines daily administrative tasks, support for critical platforms, technical documentation, and collaboration on initiatives related to system evolution, automation, and security.
**Professional Experience**
* Prior experience in system administration, infrastructure support, or similar technical roles within corporate environments. (Mandatory)
* Practical knowledge of VMware virtualization platform operations, including VM management, resource allocation, incident handling, and basic maintenance tasks. (Mandatory)
* Solid experience or knowledge of Linux system administration, preferably on CentOS, Rocky Linux, Red Hat, or equivalent distributions. (Mandatory)
* Experience working with operational procedures, technical documentation, incident resolution, and infrastructure service support. (Desirable)
**Academic Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or equivalent technical education.
* Certifications related to VMware, Linux, cloud, cybersecurity, identity management, or networking. (Desirable)
**Languages**
* Fluent Spanish. (Mandatory)
* Intermediate-to-advanced technical English, especially for documentation, vendor support, and collaboration in international environments. (Desirable)
**Technical Skills**
* VMware environment operation and administration: VM management, resource allocation, snapshots, templates, basic monitoring, and incident support. (Mandatory)
* Linux system administration: user management, service configuration, permissions, storage, logs, updates, basic scripting, and troubleshooting. (Mandatory)
* General knowledge of networking, storage, backup, monitoring, and security as applied to virtualized systems and infrastructure. (Mandatory)
* Ability to follow procedures, document changes, collaborate with other technical teams, and escalate incidents when necessary. (Mandatory)
* Knowledge of automation via scripting, Ansible, or other configuration management tools. (Desirable)
**Soft Skills**
* Proactivity, attention to detail, service orientation, and analytical ability to resolve incidents in an organized manner. (Mandatory)
* Clear communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn and evolve technically within the Infrastructure domain. (Desirable)
**ADDITIONAL SKILLS THAT GIVE YOU AN EDGE**
* Knowledge of identity management, corporate directories, LDAP, Microsoft Entra ID, or authentication integration with internal services.
* Knowledge of communications and networking: DNS, IP addressing, load balancers, firewalls, or connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
* Experience with monitoring, backup, inventory, capacity planning, or operational infrastructure management tools.
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE**
As a **System Administrator**, you will be part of the team maintaining and evolving the infrastructure platforms supporting Lynx’s services. Key day-to-day activities will include:
* Operating and maintaining VMware environments, supporting VM management, resource allocation, incident handling, change implementation, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
* Administering Linux systems, performing configuration, updates, service reviews, log analysis, incident support, and technical documentation.
* Collaborating on infrastructure improvement projects, automation, monitoring, backup, business continuity, and operational optimization.
* Supporting the application of security best practices, access management, communications, and hybrid platform operations—working closely with other technical teams.
