Currently, it is developing a major investment project in Gijón focused on new business lines and seeks to hire: **PURCHASING ENGINEER** **MISSION** Manage supplier selection and component procurement for the industrialization of new products defined by the Product Development Department, continuously exploring alternatives—both technological, material- and process-related—as well as new suppliers, aiming to optimize the final product while meeting defined technical quality requirements, delivery deadlines, and optimal cost. **RESPONSIBILITIES** • Collaborate with the Product Development Department, maintaining regular contact with various project managers and participating in defining purchased components and, where applicable, molds and tooling required for new product manufacturing. • Analyze technical requirements for various components, propose alternatives, and identify the best technical-economic solution available in the market. • Expand the current supplier base for each type of manufacturing technology, selecting optimal suppliers—including those offering the most advanced technologies available—to maximize service levels and final product quality. • Request quotations from both domestic and international suppliers, generating comparative analyses. • Prepare value proposals for various purchased components to optimize required investment and final product cost. • Manage orders for investments in molds and tooling, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines. • Establish negotiation and trust-based relationships with suppliers to secure optimal supply conditions. • Monitor assigned projects from inception through to start of serial production, including investment awarding and the industrialization process. • Participate in part homologation alongside the Product Development and Quality teams, resolving any issues arising during this process with relevant stakeholders. • Issue pre-series and/or first-production orders and conduct periodic follow-up to ensure compliance with specifications, costs, quantities and scheduled deadlines. • Efficiently transfer newly industrialized purchased components to respective buyers responsible for their ongoing procurement. • Resolve receiving issues related to such orders, as well as, where applicable, billing discrepancies with suppliers. • Manage all project-related documentation: drawings, specifications, quotations, material certificates, dimensional reports, homologation reports, etc. • Collaborate with the Procurement Team in managing one or more procurement categories. • Contribute to optimizing departmental processes: * Leading the introduction of new manufacturing technologies * Developing supplier capabilities * Providing ideas and alternatives for existing supplies **WHAT WE OFFER** • Opportunity to join a company with 60 years of activity, consolidated and undergoing continuous growth and improvement. • Real opportunities for professional development within the company and the group. • Continuous and specific training provided by the company. • Compensation commensurate with experience and expertise. Privacy Policy at https://www.samoaindustrial.com/es/web/esp/privacidad REQUIREMENTS **REQUIRED** • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Industrial Engineering. • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in a Purchasing Department (Experience in Production Departments of industrial companies or R&D Centers, project management, supplier negotiation, etc., will be valued). • Knowledge of technical products, ability to read engineering drawings, and familiarity with manufacturing technologies. • Advanced proficiency in office software and ERP systems. • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards. • Full professional proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage. • Experience managing projects with multidisciplinary teams and in serial-production industrial companies will be valued. • Experience in international procurement will be valued. • Residence in Asturias. • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel
