




Job Summary: We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst with an interest in open data and social sensitivity to generate narratives and visualizations that drive women's rights and social impact projects. We seek a profile with interest in data analysis and social sensitivity, capable of working with open data, building interactive visualizations, and generating narratives that help better understand reality and support informed decision-making. We are looking for two possible candidate profiles: \- Option 1\. Data X Social: Degree in Statistics, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering or related fields, with a Master’s or specialized studies in data analysis, and knowledge or interest in women's rights and social projects. \- Option 2\. Social X Data: Degree in Social Sciences (e.g., Sociology, Political Science, etc.) with complementary training (mandatory) in data analysis or information management technologies, and/or proven experience in this field. The mission of the Junior Data Analyst profile is to identify organizations’ information needs, locate and process available open data, and create visualization tools that facilitate information analysis and understanding. We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst for Social Observatories, a key position within the Data Women team, from which we work with open data to advance projects linked to women's rights and social impact. At Iniciativa Barcelona Open Data, we work to build a knowledge hub around open data. We are the Open Data Institute’s node in Barcelona (ODI\-Barcelona) and organize outreach, training, research, and entrepreneurship activities around open data. Our mission is to extract value from open data and apply it to areas of social transformation. We have dedicated teams: \#DataWomen, focused on women's rights, and \#DataXSocial, dedicated to social impact projects. Executing open-data-based projects with social impact: digital tools and data visualizations for analysis and social advocacy. Data research and processing: identifying and downloading open data sources, cleaning and structuring them for use. Data analysis and cross-referencing: linking different datasets to extract relevant information. Defining the structure of digital tools: set of visualizations and content to be displayed. Visualization and representation: creating interactive visualizations that facilitate information comprehension and dissemination. Engagement with collaborating and client organizations: leading participatory validation sessions with end users to design and adapt digital tools to their digital competency levels. Narrative: creating and drafting the communicative narrative accompanying data visualization projects, making them accessible to non-specialists. Organizing outreach and training activities on open data within social and feminist contexts. * Experience: 1 year. One year of experience in data processing and analysis. * Bachelor’s Degree * Catalan (spoken Advanced, written Advanced) * Spanish (spoken Advanced, written Advanced) * English (spoken Intermediate, written Intermediate) * Competencies / Knowledge: \- Experience in data processing and analysis. \- Strong analytical capacity and technical skills in data management. \- Communication ability: communicating, teaching, and building empathy with teams and organizations not specialized in data analysis and data technology. \- Effective communication and technology outreach skills in non-specialized environments, especially in contexts with high digital divide. \- Knowledge of and interest in social projects and women's rights, and in applying a feminist perspective to digital projects. \- Languages: proficiency in Catalan and Spanish; English knowledge is valued. \- Residency in Barcelona city is valued. \- Languages: proficiency in Catalan and Spanish; English knowledge is valued. * Permanent employment contract * Full-time * Gross monthly salary: 2000 * Additional relevant information: Flexible hybrid work schedule combining in-person and remote work.
