Job Summary: Supervises and ensures continuity of the production process, operations, utilities maintenance, and personnel management, contributing to continuous improvement and compliance with SHE and QA&FS regulations. Comprehensive management of operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. ### **1\.** **Purpose** Ensure continuity of the entire production process by supervising operations across various workstations, controlling and maintaining utilities, recovering solvents, and assigning necessary tasks to operators. Workplace order and cleaning tasks. Maintenance tasks described in the SOPs specific to the position and in autonomous maintenance templates and maintenance support templates for the Maintenance team. Participate in continuous improvement activities such as indicator tracking, proposals, and improvement events. Actively participate in safety and environmental compliance and related activities, including safety/environmental meetings and reporting of unsafe conditions. ### **2\.** **Context** Reports hierarchically to the Production Manager. The Shift Supervisor directly manages production operators and the packaging operator. Responsible for performing assigned operations as described, recording required data on operation sheets and work instructions, and following direct instructions from Process Technicians and Operations Managers; ensuring appropriate controls are applied at each process stage (quality control). Responsible for operating plant and laboratory equipment and facilities in accordance with work instructions and SHE and Security requirements: * 12 Life-Saving Rules * ATEX area classification for the plant * Cleaning and order based on the level required for the position by the Plant Manager. Additionally, ensuring the area remains clean and orderly. ### **3\.** **Responsibilities** * Utilities control and operations. * Solvent receipt and recovery operations, loading/unloading of solvent/waste tanker trucks, and correct completion of related documentation. * Plant/DCS operations: opening and closing manual and automatic valves, acting on control loops. Start-up/shutdown/checking of the following on-site equipment: distillation column, boiler, refrigeration units, fire protection system, cooling tower. * Raw, softened, and demineralized water. * Supervision of other plant equipment. * Equipment and facility cleaning and supervision. * Raw material receipt, control, and supervision. * Van handling. * Data acquisition/input into the computer system. * Supervision of analytical process control. * Supervision of the production process. * Tasks involving direct leadership over the entire shift’s production operators. * Effluent shipment control. * Supervision of AIB-rich filter installation. * For work permits, acts as facility owner, authorizing them when appropriate circumstances exist. Must understand the JSA, modifying it if necessary and as indicated by work conditions, always considering consensus with the JSA author(s). Whenever the JT is the work permit authorizer, must ensure compliance with annexes and checklists according to requirements. Consider environmental improvements during development of new products and new processes. Comply with system requirements. Raise appropriate deviations when they arise. Ensure proper segregation and storage of department-generated waste. Communicate emergent needs to the Environmental Manager to ensure an effective environmental management system. Communicate to department/area personnel the need to comply with organizational environmental requirements and strategic policy lines. Perform homogeneous sampling, reporting possible anomalies to the Environmental or Maintenance Department. Segregate and store generated waste. Strive to minimize potential impacts generated by activities. Report information on system development and effectiveness to Management. Be aware of and comply with SHE Security Requirements and their annexes, paying special attention to Key Security Behaviours, clear desk and screen, and Key Management.
