ACCOUNTING SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Description

An Accounting Support Technician position to provide support in the field of accounting. Responsibilities: • Financial accounting and preparation of financial statements (Recording economic transactions (revenues, expenses, fixed assets...); Preparing annual financial statements in accordance with public sector regulations; Preparing information for municipal audit and governing bodies). • Public accounting and regulatory compliance (application of the General Public Accounting Plan to ensure transparency and accountability). • Budgetary management and internal control (preparing and monitoring the annual budget; analyzing variances and preparing reports for coordination, the City Council or other public administrations; participating in the economic planning of municipal projects and services). • Treasury and financial management (cash flow and liquidity control; short- and long-term financial planning; management of loans, banking operations, and investments). • Taxation and regulatory compliance (preparation and review of taxes applicable to public business entities; ensuring compliance with tax regulations, public procurement rules, and other legal obligations). • Internal auditing and quality control of information (supervising administrative and accounting processes; supporting external audits (municipal audit, oversight bodies, private auditors); improving internal control procedures). * Minimum 1 month of experience. * Medium-level Vocational Training Qualification (FP de Grau Mig) * Catalan (spoken and written at an advanced level) * Competencies / knowledge: \- Vocational training qualification (CFGM/GFGS) or higher degree in accounting. \- Eligibility to formalize a work-based training contract for acquiring professional practice at the time of signing. Therefore, the contract must be concluded within three years—or five years if signed with a person with a disability—following completion of the relevant studies. \- Professional or vocational experience in the public sector. \- Proficiency in the Catalan language at the C1 level of competence, as defined by Article 11 of Law 1/1998 of 7 January on Linguistic Policy. This shall be certified by the Certificate of Catalan Language Proficiency (C1 level) issued by the Secretariat for Linguistic Policy or an equivalent document. In case documentary proof of the required Catalan language proficiency cannot be provided, a specific test must be passed to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the Catalan language.
