✨ About the Role We are seeking to hire a Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) for a major banking institution. This position will primarily lead the management, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of critical and building installations. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum operational safety, leading improvement and expansion projects, ensuring compliance with RD 513/2017 (RIPCI), and successfully coordinating mandatory inspections (OCA). Additionally, the role includes managing a technical team of 3–4 people; therefore, we seek a profile with strong leadership and project management competencies. **Your key responsibilities will include:** 1\. Technical Management and Maintenance of Critical Installations Supervise and ensure the proper operation and maintenance (preventive, corrective, and predictive) of fire protection systems (FPE) in buildings and critical infrastructure. Manage and diagnose complex detection and suppression systems: fire alarm control panels, smoke aspiration systems (VESDA), sprinklers, fire hydrants (BIEs), extinguishers, gaseous suppression systems, detectors, signage, among others. Ensure system availability and reliability to mitigate any operational risk. Plan and execute real-system testing schedules for alarm and evacuation signage systems, guaranteeing flawless performance during emergencies. Proactively drive continuous improvement in engineering projects by identifying and incorporating optimization opportunities, operational efficiency gains, and technological innovation—promoting solutions that add value in cost, schedule, quality, and sustainability. Train internal staff and emergency teams on evacuation routes, use of firefighting equipment, and building evacuation procedures. 2\. Legal and Regulatory Compliance Ensure strict compliance with the Fire Protection Installations Regulation (RD 513/2017) and all other applicable legislation. Coordinate, prepare, and lead mandatory Technical Inspections conducted by Authorized Control Organizations (OCA), ensuring immediate correction of any identified deficiencies. Maintain up-to-date all required technical documentation, maintenance logs, and official certificates. 3\. Project Management and Continuous Improvement Lead and execute assigned FPE system renovation, expansion, or upgrade projects—from design and budgeting through commissioning. Coordinate with external vendors, engineering firms, and contractors to ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and company quality standards. 4\. Leadership and Team Management Lead, motivate, and develop the technical team under your supervision (3–4 people), organizing shifts, workloads, and performance evaluations. **What are we looking for in you? Education:** Technical or Superior Engineering degree (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields). Postgraduate training or specialization in Fire Safety is highly valued. Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably managing critical installations. Essential Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Spanish fire protection legislation, especially RD 513/2017. Demonstrable experience with detection systems (control panels, optical/thermal detectors, VESDA systems) and suppression systems (BIEs, extinguishers, sprinklers, inert/chemical gaseous agents). Experience managing and passing OCA audits/inspections. Management Skills: Prior experience leading technical teams and managing engineering projects (KPIs, budgets, timelines).
