Description

We are seeking a Psychologist for a geriatric residence located in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. 1\. Psychological Assessment Conducts cognitive assessments (memory, attention, language, orientation, etc.) to detect possible impairments or dementias. Evaluates emotional status (anxiety, depression, apathy, irritability). Analyzes personality traits, adaptation to the environment, and quality of life. Prepares psychological reports and participates in planning comprehensive resident care. 2\. Therapeutic Intervention Provides individual psychological support to residents experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, or adjustment difficulties. Develops group therapies (cognitive stimulation, reminiscence, social skills, emotional regulation). Applies relaxation techniques and stress or illness coping training. Promotes acceptance of aging and maintenance of life purpose. 3\. Family Support Offers guidance and emotional accompaniment to family members, especially during grief processes or adjustment to the resident's admission. Educates on neurodegenerative diseases, communication with older adults, and behavioral management strategies. Facilitates family mediation in cases of conflict or emotional overload. 4\. Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration Works alongside physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Participates in developing and monitoring Individualized Care Plans (ICPs). Contributes a psychological perspective to addressing behavioral problems, treatment adherence, or functional decline. 5\. Prevention and Well-being Promotion Designs active aging programs and activities that foster self-esteem, autonomy, and social participation. Promotes a positive emotional atmosphere within the facility. Early detection of potential signs of abuse or neglect. 6\. Training and Advisory Services Trains facility staff in empathic communication, occupational stress management, and person-centered care. Updates team knowledge on psychology of aging and geriatric mental health. * Minimum 1 year of experience in geriatric residences * Bachelor's Degree in Psychology * Catalan (spoken advanced, written advanced) * Spanish (spoken advanced, written advanced) * Competencies / Knowledge: Ability to prepare reports such as: \- Initial assessment report \- Psychological follow-up report \- Intervention or session report \- Behavioral observation report \- Group or activity report \- Referral or interdisciplinary coordination report * Permanent employment contract * Part-time afternoon shift (20 hours \- weekly schedule) * Gross monthly salary ranging from '850' to '950'
