Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to lead and professionalize accounting operations in a high-volume, technologically evolving environment. Key Highlights: 1. Lead and coordinate the accounting operations area and manage the team. 2. Drive change and continuous improvement in accounting processes. 3. Collaborate with a social purpose in culture and education. At E\-Shape, we are supporting **Abacus** in its search for an **Accounting Operations Manager** to join its finance department. Abacus is a leading organization in the fields of culture, education, and leisure, with strong ties to cooperativism, the social economy, and societal transformation through access to high-quality content and products. We seek a candidate eager to take on a significant challenge within the accounting and finance function: leading and professionalizing accounting operations related to the billing cycle, payments, reconciliations, account analysis, performance indicator tracking, and process improvement in a high-volume environment. The role requires a combination of technical rigor, analytical capability, team leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement. We are not seeking solely a technically oriented accounting professional, but rather someone capable of organizing, prioritizing, analyzing, driving change, and guiding a team during a period of operational and technological evolution. **Responsibilities** ---------- The selected candidate will assume, among others, the following responsibilities: * Lead and coordinate the accounting operations area linked to the billing, validation, posting, reconciliation, and payment cycle. * Supervise the proper functioning of billing processes, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, deadlines, and established control criteria. * Manage and support a team of five people, promoting organization, follow-up, motivation, accountability, and performance improvement. * Establish daily monitoring routines, operational meetings, priority reviews, and progress tracking. * Define, analyze, and monitor KPIs for the area, setting objectives, milestones, and action plans. * Analyze key accounting accounts relevant to the area, particularly accounts for invoices pending receipt and entries related to financial closing. * Identify incidents, bottlenecks, and deviations in processes, proposing improvement solutions. * Coordinate tasks related to reconciliations, monthly and annual closings, audits, and tax compliance. * Support the team during tool transitions and technological evolution, maintaining focus on operations and internal service improvement. * Collaborate with other internal departments to ensure agile, rigorous, and results-oriented management. **Requirements** -------------- We seek a candidate with the following profile: * Degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE), Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Minimum approximate experience of 5 years in accounting, administrative\-financial, or accounting operations roles. * Experience managing teams or coordinating personnel in administrative, accounting, or financial environments. * Solid knowledge of the operational accounting cycle: billing, reconciliations, payments, closings, account analysis, and incident handling. * Analytical ability to review data, detect deviations, interpret indicators, and propose improvement actions. * Experience working with ERP systems for accounting or financial management. Experience with SAP, SAP HANA, or similar platforms is highly valued. * Proficiency with digital work and analysis tools. Experience with Google Workspace is a plus. * Ability to work in high-volume environments with complex processes and diverse scenarios. * Fluent Catalan and Spanish. Professional communication in Catalan is mandatory. * Attention to detail, rigor, accountability, and sound accounting judgment. * Leadership, communication, and change management capabilities. * Proactivity, results orientation, and commitment to continuous improvement. We especially value candidates who resonate with Abacus’s mission and embrace a collaborative, engaged, innovative, service-oriented, and socially impactful approach to cultural and educational work. **Benefits** -------------- * Join a solid, socially purpose-driven organization rooted in culture, education, and cooperativism. * A stable position with direct impact on the professionalization of a key organizational area. * Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. * Flexible morning start time. * Intensive workday on Fridays. * Intensive workdays in August and on the eve of public holidays. * One remote work day per week, coordinated according to team needs. * Central offices located in Barcelona. * Fixed annual gross salary between €40,000 and €42,000. * Annual bonus of up to €5,000, linked to individual objectives and company performance. * Social benefits: flexible compensation, private health insurance, transportation allowance, meal vouchers, training opportunities, discounts on cultural products and services, among others. * Opportunity to join Abacus’s cooperative ownership model, subject to internal Abacus policy. If you are an experienced accounting operations professional with analytical vision, team leadership capacity, and motivation to contribute to a purpose-driven project, this position offers an excellent opportunity to bring judgment, structure, and improvement to a dynamic and transforming environment. We seek someone committed to the project, eager to contribute rigor, and help consolidate a more efficient, professionalized, and service-oriented accounting operation.
