Mission
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, Holcim’s environmental policies and standards, and the environmental objectives defined for the plant, while guaranteeing proper management of the Environmental Management System, reliability of reporting, continuous improvement of environmental performance, and technical support to operational areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* **Legal Compliance, Licenses, and Authorizations**
Initiate, maintain, modify, and review environmental licenses, permits, and authorizations required for the plant’s operations, including water abstraction, wastewater discharges, waste management, atmospheric emissions, Integrated Industrial Register, and other applicable legal or administrative requirements.
* **Environmental Monitoring, Control, and Industrial Safety**
Monitor key environmental and industrial safety aspects through controls, statutory inspections, internal audits, anomaly analysis, tracking of legal requirements, and coordination with accredited entities or competent authorities.
* **Environmental Management System and Audits**
Ensure maintenance, communication, and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System, coordinating internal and external audits—including environmental and CO₂ audits—tracking of non-conformities, implementation of corrective actions, and providing operational areas with support to ensure system compliance.
* **Reporting, Indicators, and Environmental Documentation**
Ensure reliability of environmental data, adherence to deadlines, and quality of internal and external reports—including emissions, waste, discharges, noise, CO₂, PRTR, periodic declarations, corporate reports, and documentation required by regulatory bodies, accredited entities, or competent authorities.

* **Support in Health & Safety, RHINO, and Internal Tools**
Support plant departments on Health & Safety matters where applicable—particularly regarding use of internal tools such as RHINO, safe isolation, pre-work risk analysis, and tracking of preventive actions linked to your area of responsibility.
* **Maintenance, Reliability, and Technical-Administrative Control**
Manage or support updating of maintenance schedules, reliability reports, and internal tools related to legal compliance of facilities—ensuring necessary technical and documentary follow-up to maintain conformity of equipment and installations subject to environmental or industrial safety requirements.
* **Technical Advisory for Projects, Refurbishments, and New Sites**
Provide technical advice on environmental, legal, and industrial safety requirements applicable to new production sites, refurbishments, facility modifications, or improvement projects—proposing solutions that support regulatory compliance, risk prevention, and performance enhancement.
* **Economic Oversight Related to Legal Compliance**
Verify and control budgets, expenditures, and financial needs associated with maintenance, inspections, statutory controls, external services, and necessary interventions to ensure strict legal compliance of facilities.
