**Position:** Analyst – Structured Finance **Location:** Madrid, Spain **About the Position** ------------------- We are seeking a highly motivated Analyst with 2–3 years of experience in **Project Finance** and/or **Structured Finance**, to join our Structured Finance team. The selected candidate will participate in the execution of renewable energy project financing transactions across Europe, supporting acquisitions, *greenfield* developments, refinancings, and portfolio financings. This role combines financial analysis with transaction execution and requires close collaboration with lenders, financial advisors, law firms, technical advisors, insurance advisors, and other internal teams. The Analyst will report to a **Structured Finance Manager** within the **Corporate \& Structured Finance** team. **Key Responsibilities** --------------------------------- ### **Transaction Execution** * Support the execution of project finance and corporate finance transactions from origination through financial close. * Coordinate workstreams with lenders, financial advisors, legal advisors, technical advisors, insurance advisors, and other external parties. * Monitor transaction timelines and ensure adherence to key milestones. * Prepare financing documentation, including *teasers*, information memoranda, presentations for lenders, and internal investment committee materials. * Assist in negotiating term sheets and financing documentation. ### **Financial Analysis** * Review and validate financial models prepared by the modeling team or external financial advisors. * Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario analyses. * Analyze debt sizing, leverage levels, and key financing metrics such as **DSCR** (Debt Service Coverage Ratio), **LLCR** (Loan Life Coverage Ratio), and others. * Analyze merchant exposure, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and applicable regulatory frameworks. * Support the design of financing structures and optimization of capital structure. ### **New Financings** * Assist in structuring new financing solutions for operational and development-stage assets. * Participate in acquisition financing processes. ### **Existing Financings** * Support portfolio refinancing initiatives. * Manage periodic lender requests. * Coordinate waivers, consents, and contractual amendments. * Review compliance certificates and financial covenants. * Support preparation of periodic reports for lenders. ### **Internal Coordination** * Work closely with Development, M\&A, Construction, Asset Management, Treasury, Tax, and Legal teams. * Prepare presentations and decision documents for senior management and investment committees. **Required Experience** ------------------------- 2–3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: * Project Finance * Structured Finance * Financial Advisory Experience gained at financial institutions, financial advisory firms, energy investment funds, or independent power producers (IPPs) is particularly valued. **Technical Knowledge** -------------------------- * Strong understanding of project finance structures. * Solid knowledge of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, and preferably battery energy storage systems \- BESS). * Experience reviewing financial models. * Familiarity with financing documentation. * Knowledge of PPAs, merchant exposure in electricity markets, and renewable energy regulatory frameworks. * Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. * Financial modeling skills, especially focused on reviewing and analyzing models rather than building them from scratch. **Personal Competencies** --------------------------- * High analytical capability. * Strong attention to detail. * Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously. * Excellent organizational and planning skills. * Proactive attitude and practical orientation. * Ability to work under tight deadlines. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Team spirit and collaborative mindset. **Languages** ----------- * Spanish. * Fluent English (C1 level) — **mandatory**. * Knowledge of Italian or Portuguese is a plus. **What We Offer** ----------------- * Involvement in complex renewable energy project financing transactions across Europe. * Opportunity to work on acquisitions, project finance, portfolio finance, *greenfield* developments, and capital markets transactions. * Direct interaction with senior management, international financial institutions, and leading financial advisory firms. * Professional development within a rapidly growing European renewable energy platform backed by Masdar.
