Collect payments; activate or issue new room keys. Ensure rates comply with market standards and that all exceptions are properly documented. Verify or adjust guest billing. Communicate with appropriate staff when guests are awaiting an available room. Inform guests of any messages they have received. Remove guest records from the computer system. Coordinate with the Housekeeping Department to track room status and guest concerns. File guest paperwork or documentation. Operate the telephone switchboard. Prepare and verify daily reports, incident lists, and credit card authorization reports. Provide directions and information to guests on how to reach destinations. Handle, register, and process all guest calls, requests, questions, or concerns; follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution. Arrange transportation for guests or visitors. Count and secure the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift. Cash guest checks, process all forms of payment, receipts, disbursements, and expenses, and provide change. Notify Security of any reported thefts. Comply with all company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management; ensure uniform and personal appearance are neat and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Greet and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs and fulfill them, assist guests with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language and answer telephones using proper protocol. Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team in achieving common goals, and listen to and respond appropriately to employee concerns. Adhere to quality safety standards. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors. DESIRABLE SKILLS Education: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
