We are currently seeking a **Nuclear Engineer** to join a strategic **nuclear fusion** project in collaboration with the European agency responsible for Europe’s contributions.
This position offers the opportunity to participate in one of the world’s most ambitious scientific and technological programs, contributing to key activities in **nuclear safety, radiation protection, licensing, and requirements management** for advanced nuclear systems.**What will be your mission?**

As a Nuclear Engineer, you will collaborate with international, multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with nuclear safety, radiation protection, and applicable regulatory requirements within nuclear fusion projects.
You will participate in technical activities related to the design, manufacturing, inspection, testing, assembly, commissioning, and decommissioning of nuclear systems, structures, and components, supporting key teams.**Your main responsibilities will be:**

* Ensure that activities carried out by Fusion for Energy and its contractors comply with applicable French nuclear safety regulations, including:
+ 2012 Order on Basic Nuclear Installations (INB).
+ French Environmental Code.
+ ESPN Regulations.
+ Other applicable nuclear regulations.
* Provide technical support to the **TBM (Test Blanket Module)** team regarding radioactive waste management, **Radwaste**.
* Develop and implement test and verification plans to validate project technical requirements.
* Lead and supervise the proper propagation and traceability of defined requirements across the entire supply chain.
* Collaborate closely with:
+ Nuclear Safety \& Licensing Project Manager.
+ Requirements Responsible Officer.
+ Nuclear Safety Officer.
* Prepare reference technical documentation, technical evaluations, and operational radiation protection procedures.
* Review technical documentation associated with:
+ Design.
+ Manufacturing.
+ Inspection.
+ Testing.
+ Assembly.
+ Commissioning.
+ Decommissioning.
* Participate in radiological monitoring and radiation protection management, **Health Physics**.
* Analyze and interpret test results, measurements, and radiological surveillance activities.
* Prepare technical reports and supporting documentation for nuclear safety and licensing activities.
* Provide general technical assistance and report progress on assigned tasks.
**What are we looking for?**

### **Essential requirements**
* Degree in **Nuclear, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering**, or equivalent.
* English language proficiency at **C1 level**.
* Knowledge of principles and methodologies of **radiation protection** and **Health Physics**.
* Demonstrable experience in the design, manufacturing, commissioning, and/or decommissioning of nuclear systems, structures, or components.
* Experience in regulated environments within the nuclear sector or radiological facilities.
* Ability to work in international and multidisciplinary environments.
* Availability to work on-site at the **client’s facilities in Barcelona**.
* Work modality: **Hybrid**, with approximately **4 days per month on-site**.
**We will especially value experience or knowledge in:**

* Design and analysis of radiological shielding.
* Radiation monitoring and detection systems.
* Management and characterization of radioactive waste, **Radwaste**.
* Definition and application of requirements for tritium management.
* Neutronic analysis and particle transport.
* Radiological calculations using specialized tools such as:
+ **MCNP, Monte Carlo N\-Particle**.
+ Equivalent radiative transport tools.
* Preparation of nuclear safety documentation and design bases.
* Participation in projects related to:
+ **ITER**.
+ **Fusion for Energy, F4E**.
+ Nuclear fusion.
+ Nuclear power plants.
+ Large-scale scientific infrastructures.
