### **Description**
**Join one of the world’s leading global asset management firms and play a key role in evolving the data architecture of an international financial organization.**
With data playing a critical role across investment, operations, and corporate functions, the organization is continuously evolving how data is **structured, managed, integrated, and consumed** within its global technology environment. As a **Data Architect**, you will contribute to this evolution by defining scalable data architectures, establishing modeling and integration patterns, and ensuring data solutions align with corporate standards and long-term technology strategy.
You will join the **Solution & Data Architecture** function and work within a broad international technology landscape, collaborating with **Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Domain Architects, Data SMEs, and Security specialists**. This role combines strong technical expertise in data architecture with the ability to influence how data is managed and delivered across the organization.
This position targets a **Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with solid experience in architecture**, particularly with hands-on expertise in **data modeling, data engineering, databases, and cloud technologies**. Experience in **Financial Services or Asset Management** will be especially valued.
**About the Role**
As a **Data Architect**, you will help define and evolve the **Enterprise Data Architecture**, transforming functional and non-functional requirements into appropriate data models, ingestion strategies, and consumption patterns.
You will work closely with engineering and architecture teams to translate these designs into practical solutions, while also participating in strategic architecture decisions and establishing **reusable patterns and standards** for data across the organization.
A key part of the role will also be maintaining and evolving the **Enterprise Data Model (EDM)**, ensuring consistent data modeling across various initiatives and enabling effective translation of logical models into physical implementations.
**Your Responsibilities**
* ️ Translate functional and non-functional requirements into **data architecture designs**, data models, and appropriate ingestion and consumption strategies.
* ️ Design and maintain data models using approaches such as **3NF, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Data Vault 2\.0**, selecting the most suitable methodology based on business and technical requirements.
* ️ Define and promote data architecture patterns covering **batch processing, streaming, parallel ingestion, and event-driven architectures**.
* ️ Work closely with **Data Engineers**, providing architectural guidance and supporting implementation of data models and ingestion/consumption patterns.
* ️ Collaborate with **Solution Architects, Domain Architects, Data SMEs, and Security specialists** to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and security standards.
* ️ Define and document **architecture decisions, reusable patterns, and guidelines** to address recurring data architecture challenges.
* ️ Contribute to global solution designs and participate in presenting and defending architectural decisions before relevant **Architecture and Security Governance** bodies.
* ️ Maintain and evolve the **Enterprise Data Model (EDM)** and assist in translating logical models into physical models when required.
* ️ Evaluate emerging data technologies and identify opportunities to enhance and modernize the organization’s global data architecture.
* ️ Support the evolution of data solutions in **on-premise and cloud environments**, with strong preference for **GCP**.
* ️ Ensure data architecture decisions account for **scalability, performance, security, governance, and long-term sustainability**.
### **Basic Requirements**
Degree in **Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field**, with a minimum of **5 years’ experience in Data Engineering and Data Architecture**.
* ️ Strong professional experience in **Data Architecture and Data Modeling**.
* ️ Solid knowledge of modeling methodologies, including **3NF, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Data Vault 2\.0**.
* ️ Solid knowledge of **data ingestion and consumption architectures**, including batch, streaming, parallel ingestion, and event-driven architectures.
* ️ Extensive experience with **traditional relational databases**, especially **Oracle, SQL Server, and/or PostgreSQL**.
* ️ Experience with **Snowflake** will be especially valued.
* ️ Good practical knowledge and hands-on experience deploying workloads in **cloud**, preferably **GCP**.
* ️ Strategic thinking capability, with ability to define **architecture patterns, decision frameworks, and reusable solutions**.
* ️ Ability to work closely with Data Engineers and translate architectural concepts into **practical implementations**.
* ️ Strong **stakeholder management and communication skills**, with ability to explain and defend architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* ️ Curiosity and interest in **emerging technologies**, with ability to assess their potential and applicability within an enterprise data environment.
* ️ Prior experience in the **Financial Services or Asset Management** sector will be especially valued.
### **Desired Qualifications**
* ️ Opportunity to work within a **global asset management organization**.
* ️ **Hybrid work model in Madrid**.
* ️ **International and collaborative environment**.
* ️ Opportunities for **professional training and development**.
* ️ **Mentorship and support** from highly experienced professionals.
* ️ **Flexible benefits** adaptable to your personal needs.
* ️ Opportunity to contribute to the evolution of **enterprise-level data architecture and the organization’s technological transformation**.
