Position Objective To plan, develop, and evaluate the teaching\-learning process for the assigned group of students, delivering corresponding curriculum areas and addressing student diversity, thereby ensuring their holistic development and achievement of educational objectives established by current legislation and the school’s educational project. Main Functions and Responsibilities The functions of a primary school teacher encompass academic, formative, and organizational domains. Among the most important are: Teaching Planning and Preparation * Plan and prepare appropriate, balanced, relevant, and differentiated lessons for students, aligned with the school’s objectives and official curriculum. * Collaborate with colleagues on instructional planning, sharing ideas and jointly designing units and lessons. * Design classroom experiences that foster curiosity, engagement, and independence in learning. * Ensure appropriate curriculum differentiation to meet the personalized needs of all students. Class Delivery and Methodology * Deliver engaging and effective lessons using a variety of instructional strategies to address individual learning needs. * Apply active methodologies such as Project-Based Learning (PBL), cooperative learning, and gamification. * Promote the development of critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. * Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages participation and mutual respect. Assessment and Progress Monitoring * Use formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor student progress and guide instruction. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance. * Provide constructive and timely feedback to students and families. * Submit progress reports and grades within established deadlines. Classroom Behavior Management and Climate * Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment. * Apply positive discipline strategies to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors. * Ensure the well-being and safeguarding of all students, prioritizing child protection in all decisions and actions. Tutoring and Family Communication * Serve as the class tutor, conducting individualized student monitoring and coordinating tutorial activities. * Maintain open and proactive communication with families regarding their children’s learning progress. * Inform and guide families to actively collaborate in the educational process. Professional Development and Collaboration * Participate in pedagogical coordination meetings and continuous professional development activities. * Collaborate with other teachers, school leadership, and support staff to implement school initiatives. * Contribute to the smooth operation of the school and the creation of a positive learning community. Other Responsibilities * Participate in supervision of the playground, cafeteria, and complementary activities. * Collaborate in organizing and participating in extracurricular activities and school events.
