Job Description We are seeking a **Plant Operator** to work at a facility belonging to a **geochemical laboratory**, exclusively dedicated to the physical processing of rock, stone, and mineral samples. The selected candidate will be responsible for the correct handling, preparation, and conditioning of samples prior to shipment to external analytical laboratories. **Main Responsibilities** * Receiving, identifying, and logging solid samples (rock, stone, minerals). * Initial weighing using industrial and analytical balances. * Determining moisture content using established procedures. * Drying samples in controlled ovens. * Coarse crushing using primary reduction equipment. * Fine crushing using mills and secondary reduction equipment. * Pulverizing and homogenizing to obtain material suitable for geochemical analysis. * Separating and classifying fractions according to requirements. * Preparing envelopes and packaging for shipment to external laboratories. * Internal quality controls at each process stage (equipment cleaning, cross-contamination verification, parameter review). * Basic maintenance and cleaning of machinery and work areas. * Recording data in computer systems and control sheets. **Important: This position does not conduct chemical analyses; it focuses exclusively on the physical preparation of samples.** Requirements * Minimum education: Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) or Vocational Training (FP) (preferably in laboratory, geology, mining, chemistry, or related fields). * Experience in industrial environments, treatment plants, mining, or sample preparation laboratories (valued). * Ability to operate crushing, drying, and pulverizing equipment. * Basic knowledge of industrial safety and material handling. * Attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow strict procedures. * Good physical condition for handling moderate loads. * Availability to work rotating shifts.
