BBVA's **Tax area** is responsible for ensuring robust, efficient, and strategically aligned tax management, providing specialized advisory services within a complex and continuously evolving regulatory environment.
As a global function, the area participates in analyzing the tax implications of major business operations and decisions, ensuring compliance with tax obligations and contributing to appropriate tax risk management. Furthermore, it collaborates closely with various business areas and corporate functions to incorporate the tax perspective into strategic initiatives, transformation projects, and new products.
The Tax Department is undergoing a continuous transformation process, driving new ways of working based on data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence.

**Job Mission**

Contribute to the development of BBVA’s Tax function by combining technical tax expertise with advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities. The role aims to support the analysis of operations with tax impact, develop analytical solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of departmental processes, and drive the adoption of data and AI technologies as levers for transforming the Tax Department.
The successful candidate will progressively develop deep knowledge of tax regulations and their application to business activities, complemented by technical skills enabling value extraction from data and implementation of innovative solutions within a highly regulated environment.
**Key Responsibilities**

* Analyze operations and processes with potential tax impact, supporting the identification and assessment of risks and opportunities.
* Participate in the technical analysis of tax legislation and its application across the Group’s various activities.
* Design and develop data analyses to facilitate decision-making and enhance the Tax Department’s analytical capability.
* Develop and maintain data-based solutions for automating, monitoring, and optimizing tax processes.
* Collaborate in identifying, evaluating, and implementing use cases of artificial intelligence applied to the tax function.
* Participate in the area’s digital transformation initiatives, promoting the integration of analytical tools and AI technologies into daily operations.
* Prepare reports, visualizations, and analytical models to interpret complex information and support decision-making.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Tax, Finance, Engineering, Data, and other corporate areas.
**Required Profile / Education**

* Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration and Management, Law, or equivalent qualifications with a solid economic\-financial foundation.
* University-level specialization in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related disciplines (dual degree, master’s program, or verifiable specialization).
**Technical Knowledge**

* Knowledge of taxation and accounting, or ability to develop technical expertise in tax regulations and assessment of tax impacts.
* Proficiency in data analysis and programming tools, especially Python and SQL.
* Experience with data visualization and exploration tools (Power BI or equivalents).
* Understanding of data modeling, information processing, and analysis.
* Knowledge of artificial intelligence—particularly Generative AI—as well as its application to business processes and document analysis.
* Experience in process automation, development of analytical solutions, and use of collaborative data science tools will be valued.
