**Job Description** **Who will you work with?** Wabtec is a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions, and value-added services for the freight and transit rail sectors. You will work in the Supply Chain department, reporting to the Materials and Inventory Manager. **How will you make a difference?** As a **Material Planner**, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of materials to meet production schedules while optimizing inventory levels. **What will your day-to-day look like?** * Coordinate, control, and track purchase orders sent to suppliers based on data recorded in purchase specifications. * Manage MRP messages and perform continuous maintenance to ensure all messages are resolved before the next calculation. * Confirm delivery dates in the ERP, respecting the lead times (LT) of references indicated in purchase specifications. * Monitor and control supplier KPIs: acknowledgements of receipt, delays, reconfirmed references. * Schedule and lead periodic supplier meetings: phone calls, weekly meetings, visits to our factory, action plans, etc. Update information in OneDrive and designated tools to improve tracking. * Ensure suppliers align with the established OTD target. * Release orders arising from special handling or rework activities. * Update Wabtec-owned stock held at supplier warehouses and report any potential deviations. * Urgently track and escalate non-conformances returned to suppliers, jointly with Procurement and Quality. * Organize and monitor transportation to ensure on-time delivery of supplier materials and provide supplier information to our customs broker to ensure proper customs clearance, as well as compare freight rates across group suppliers to minimize purchasing freight costs. * Calculate the forecast for purchasing freights for projects requiring FAC (Forecast at Completion) reporting. * Manage repairs with suppliers, tracking from quotation request through to material delivery. * Identify missing parts priority within each supplier’s order portfolio to achieve the C\-OTD target, reviewing weekly. * Proactively and promptly detect potential stockouts, implementing appropriate alternative measures to eliminate risk or escalating to your supervisor with sufficient advance notice for proper resolution. * Daily handling of urgent matters and customer-focused deliveries targeting OTD, jointly with Procurement and Quality (PIK format), and resolution of Andon messages. **What are we looking for in you?** * Diploma * +2 years’ experience in a similar role within an industrial manufacturing company * Knowledge of English and Spanish * Proficiency in MRP systems and MS Office * Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure * Ability to work both collaboratively and independently * Proactive, problem-solving attitude * Willingness to travel occasionally *Legal authorization to work in EU is required.
