AL1 is seeking a **Group Financial Reporting & Compliance Specialist** for an international pharmaceutical company in an expansion phase with high, sustained growth.
You will join a rapidly expanding international finance team and take on a newly created role where you will shape and develop the Group’s Compliance and Financial Reporting function.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a key role in strengthening financial governance across international operations (4 locations, including Spain) and collaborate closely with a highly experienced finance team. During your first year, you will receive structured mentorship and progressively assume responsibility for strategic projects.

**Key Responsibilities**
Group Financial Reporting
* Coordinate the preparation of the Group’s and its subsidiaries’ statutory financial statements.
* Support the Group’s annual consolidation process and the preparation of quarterly reports for the Board of Directors.
* Ensure timely compliance with statutory financial reporting obligations across various jurisdictions.
Group Tax Compliance
* Coordinate periodic Group tax compliance (corporate income tax, VAT, personal income tax, informational returns).
* Support the annual tax close process and transfer pricing documentation.
* Apply BOICAC/ICAC guidelines and manage responses to tax audits.
* Manage R&D tax incentives (Art. 35 LIS) and related supporting documentation.
* Coordinate budgeting, monitoring, and justification of public-funded R&D grants.
* Serve as the liaison with agencies such as CDTI, MICIU, AEAT, and external auditors.
* Support applications for national and European funding programs (CDTI, Horizon Europe, PERTE, CIEN, NEOTEC).
CAPEX, Intangible Assets, and Balance Sheet Items
* Manage fixed asset capitalization and amortization (transition from Treasury department scheduled for 2026).
* Document and prepare justification for intangible assets (particularly R&D-related).
* Negotiate commercial rebates and review corporate insurance policies.
External Audit and Internal Control
* Coordinate annual external audits across multiple jurisdictions.
* Develop and strengthen internal control procedures and the control matrix (segregation of duties/SoD, reconciliations, authorizations).
Process and Policy Improvement
* Review procedures across all locations and propose improvements.
* Maintain up-to-date accounting policies and NetSuite documentation.
* Complete official surveys (e.g., INE, Bank of Spain) and meet regulatory requirements.

**Requirements**
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
* A Master’s degree in Auditing, Taxation, Finance, or Regulatory Compliance is highly desirable.
* Professional certifications such as ACCA, ROAC (in progress), CIA, or equivalent are strongly valued.
Experience
* 3–5 years of experience in external audit and/or corporate accounting.
* Experience preparing statutory/financial statements.
* Experience supporting external audits.
* Knowledge of Spanish accounting and tax regulations.
* Multinational experience is highly valued.
* Experience in transfer pricing or publicly funded R&D grants is considered a strong advantage (though not mandatory); we provide support for learning in these areas.
* Languages: Fluent Spanish / Professional-level English (C1 or higher). German or Italian knowledge is a plus but not required.
* This position requires willingness to travel to our offices.
Salary: Starting from €40,000.00 per year
