You will be a key contributor in realizing InterContinental Madrid’s commercial and quality vision. As General Accountant, you will report directly to the Director of Finance or, alternatively, to the Finance Manager, and collaborate closely with the hotel’s finance team. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating accounts receivable, revenue audit, night audit, treasury, and stores functions, ensuring proper control of accounting and financial processes. The role aims to ensure accurate management of revenue and expense cycles, compliance with internal controls, and reliability of financial information—promoting a work culture grounded in trust, integrity, respect, teamwork, and service orientation. Additionally, you will maintain smooth relationships with banks, external auditors, tax advisors, insurance companies, and other external stakeholders related to the company’s financial activities. **What will some of your responsibilities be?** * Lead, control, and monitor the hotel’s accounting and administrative activities professionally, independently, and responsibly. * Review and correct daily revenue journal entries. * Perform monthly bank reconciliations for accounting accounts and ensure accurate balance sheet account reconciliations. * Review and audit payroll. * Prepare monthly financial reports and closing documentation. * Manage the financial system’s accounting close (monthly, quarterly, and annual, within established deadlines). * Participate in budget preparation, forecasts, and corporate financial reporting. * Analyze budget variances and propose corrective actions. * Actively participate in the external audit of annual financial statements and the hotel’s internal audit. * Prepare owner accounting. * USALI **Position Requirements** * University degree in Business Administration and Management, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree in Accounting Audit, Financial Management, or Management Control preferred. * Minimum 3 years’ experience in general accounting, auditing, or finance roles. * Proficiency in Spanish general accounting, internal control and auditing, taxation and taxes, bank reconciliations, accounting closings, and financial statement preparation. * Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and budgetary control; monthly closings and corporate reporting. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Familiarity with hotel and financial management systems, preferably Opera and BirchStreet. * High level of English; international hotel experience is a strong advantage. **What can you expect from us?** * Competitive salary * International hotel discounts across the IHG portfolio * Training programs and access to IHG University * Meals during working hours * Local business benefits * Employee gym access * Access to the Wellbeing platform, focused on health, lifestyle, and workplace well-being.
