Job Description

We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager to join our team in Madrid, ensuring secure, competitive, and sustainable procurement of goods and services while optimizing total cost of ownership (TCO), delivering business solutions, guaranteeing full regulatory compliance, and minimizing operational and supply chain risks within a critical, high-demand industrial environment.
What will your responsibilities be?
1\. Procurement Strategy and Management
* Define and implement category-specific procurement strategies (direct, indirect, CAPEX, services).
* Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and lead sustainable cost-reduction initiatives.
* Lead sourcing processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP), supplier evaluation, and selection.
2\. Team Management
* Lead, motivate, and develop the procurement team.
* Evaluate performance, identify talent, and manage team-related risks—promoting training, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.
3\. Supplier Management
* Develop and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers.
* Evaluate supplier performance using KPIs (On-Time-In-Full, lead time, cost, ESG).
* Manage improvement and risk mitigation plans with critical suppliers.
4\. Negotiation and Contracting
* Lead contractual negotiations to secure optimal terms (price, service, SLAs, penalties).
* Define and review critical clauses (safety, compliance, sustainability, continuity).
* Ensure adherence to internal policies and applicable regulations.
5\. Risk Management and Supply Continuity
* Identify supply chain risks (operational, financial, geopolitical, security).
* Develop and implement contingency plans prioritizing supply chain safety.
6\. Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
* Drive digitalization initiatives and improvements in procurement and related processes.
* Ensure process efficiency and transparency.
7\. Sustainability and Compliance
* Integrate ESG criteria into procurement decisions.
* Reduce environmental impact (CO2 emissions, energy consumption, waste).
* Guarantee ethical and regulatory compliance (compliance, audits).
8\. Reporting and Executive Support
* Prepare analyses and reports for Procurement Leadership and other departments.
* Monitor KPIs: savings, OTIF, fill rate, inventory, risk.
* Support strategic decision-making with data-driven analysis.
Job Requirements
What are the requirements for this position?
* Engineering degree (Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical or similar) — mandatory, given the technical nature of the categories and procurement focus.
* Preferred: Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Procurement.
* 5–8 years of experience in industrial procurement or supply chain management.
* Experience in technical categories and the industrial sector (industrial equipment, MRO, industrial services and after-sales, energy, etc.).
* Proven track record in complex negotiation and strategic supplier management.
* Experience in regulated industrial environments (industrial gases / chemicals preferred).
* Technical knowledge of costing models and savings management: TCO, Hard Savings, Soft Savings, Capital Cost Reduction.
* Familiarity with sourcing processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP).
* Contract management and handling of critical clauses.
* Monitoring of supply chain KPIs (OTIF, lead time, fill rate, inventory).
