**Your role:**
The EHS Specialist is part of a team and reports directly to the department head. They are responsible for collaborating with all staff and contractors to ensure and maintain safety as a core value. Their role is to provide direct EHS support to departments and individuals participating in the Health and Well-being Management Program, and to guide monitoring operations and activities on-site. They must ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health, and safety legislation and corporate requirements. They hold responsibility and assume a leadership role in maintaining the Environmental Management System and Occupational Risk Prevention System, as well as sustaining certification under ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001\.
In carrying out their duties, they must consistently adhere to the principles of Safety, Quality and Compliance, Service, and Efficiency.
**Key responsibilities:**
* Advise and support the EHS department and various business units on Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP) and Environmental matters to ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
* Assist in establishing objectives, targets, action plans, monitoring plans, and improvement plans, and in evaluating the plant’s compliance with legal and corporate requirements within their area of responsibility.
* Collaborate in developing the Occupational Risk Prevention Plan to enable integration of prevention into the company, working jointly with other work centers (Internal Prevention Service).
* Maintain and continuously improve integrated management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001\). Prepare and maintain management system documentation. Prepare for group or third-party audits and manage corrective actions (CAPAs), including monitoring their implementation.
* Conduct risk assessments. Advise on proposing measures for risk elimination, reduction, and/or control, including planning and follow-up, in collaboration with area managers.
* Investigate and analyze accidents, incidents, and occupational illnesses, proposing preventive and/or protective measures, and tracking implementation and effectiveness.
* Manage corrective and preventive actions, monitoring their implementation.
* Manage and control documentation for certified Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* Define and manage the Occupational Risk Prevention Training Program, including its delivery.
* Execute activities to foster a safety culture within the organization (e.g., safety visits, training, workshops, action follow-up, etc.).
* Participate in drafting and reviewing the Emergency Action Plan (PAU), implementing the annual plan, training, emergency drills, and exercises. Advise on crisis plan development.
* Organize the Occupational Health and Safety Committee according to the Chemical Industry Collective Agreement.
* Coordinate with External Prevention Services for Health Surveillance management.
* Manage coordination of business activities involving contractors, temporary staffing agencies, and interns under training agreements.
* Prepare the Annual Accident Statistics Report and the Annual Prevention Service Report.
* Prepare and present the Management Review of Integrated Management Systems.
* Manage changes considering EHS aspects.
**Who you are:**
**Education:**
Mandatory
* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemical Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
* Master’s degree in Occupational Risk Prevention covering all three specialties: Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Safety.
* Training on ISO 45001 standard: implementation, maintenance, and auditing.
Desirable
* Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001\ standards.
* Master’s degree and/or training in Integrated Management Systems, Environmental Management, and/or Sustainability.
* Auditor training.
* Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
* Knowledge of Lean Management and Project Management.
**Experience**
* 3\-5 years of experience as an EHS Technician in a chemical or pharmaceutical company, or in an External Prevention Service managing chemical/pharmaceutical companies.
* Experience with the ISO 45001 management system.
**Skills and competencies**
* Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills at all levels of the organization, both with stakeholders and staff. Public speaking experience, including meetings with site personnel and delivering training to them.
* Results-oriented, demonstrating strong motivation to achieve goals and efficiently manage daily tasks. Solid planning and organizational skills.
* Problem-solving abilities and root cause investigation skills for incidents.
* Appropriate computer skills.
**Languages**
* Native/fluent Spanish
* Intermediate English (B2\).
* Capable of holding conversations, reporting findings, and defending tasks with an international team.
Location: Tres Cantos (Madrid)
Possibility of 2 remote workdays per week
Contract or assignment covering maternity leave
