**Job Description: Network Engineer** **Work Experience** * Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in network engineering or a similar role, including design, implementation and management of enterprise networks (LAN/WAN), SD-WAN and network equipment configuration. **Essential Knowledge** * Cisco CCNA certification * Fortinet NSE4 certification * Proficiency in routing protocols OSPF and BGP. * Proficiency in switching protocols, especially STP and VLAN. **Technical Skills** * Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues under pressure. * Solid understanding of network protocols and systems: TCP/IP, routing (OSPF, BGP) and switching (VLAN, STP). * Experience with enterprise hardware: routers, switches, firewalls and access points (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet). * Practical experience in network security (firewalls, VPN, IPS/IDS). * Knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks. * Experience in Data Center environments (Cisco Nexus, Arista). **Desirable** * Previous experience in multi-site companies. * Experience with SD-WAN. * Experience in hybrid environments (on-site + remote work) and mixed topologies. * Knowledge of SASE **Personal Skills** * Experience working in multinational environments or international teams. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Analytical, problem-solving and detail-oriented profile. * Collaborative attitude and team-oriented mindset. * Key Responsibilities * Network Architecture and Design: Plan, design and enhance network topology (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi), ensuring scalability, security and availability. * Network Hardware Management: Install, configure and maintain switches, routers, firewalls and access points in offices and data centers, ensuring optimal performance. * Analysis, design and configuration of Konecta Group’s national or international communications network, including its security with Fortigate firewalls. * Analysis, design and configuration of Data Center solutions (Cisco Nexus / Arista). * Participate in projects requiring network and security solution design and configuration. * Performance and QoS monitoring, implementing policies to prioritize critical traffic (voice, video). * Segmentation via VLAN, broadcast domain management and traffic optimization. * Redundancy and high availability, implementing alternate routes and backup links. * Incident and request management, following ITIL processes. * Collaborate with IT teams, vendors and partners, ensuring SLA compliance. * Maintain up-to-date documentation: diagrams, configurations, IP inventory, failover procedures. * Propose continuous improvements and stay current with emerging technologies (SD-WAN, Wi-Fi 6/7, automation). * Advise management on capacity planning, investments and infrastructure. * Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulations (including data protection). **Languages** * English **Job Conditions** * Working hours: As stipulated by Konecta * On-call duty: At least 1 per month * Hybrid model: On-site + Remote work Employment type: Full-time Salary: €50,000.00–€70,000.00 per year Work location: Hybrid remote work in 28036 Madrid, Madrid province
