Making gigabit communications over fiber optics a reality, KD technology supplies multi Gb/s optical links for automotive, industrial, and home networks. Founded in 2010 in Madrid, Spain, KD offer its cost\-effective technology as either ASSP or IP (Intellectual Property) to be integrated in SoCs (System\-on\-Chips). KD has about 75 employees, we are in full expansion due to the development of innovative products in the sector and the creation of a unique factory in Spain. As a result, we are looking for a **Mechanical Design Engineer**. **Tasks \& Responsibilities** ----------------------------- * Design of concepts of IC packages, IC sockets and fiber optic connectors. * Design and model of opto\-mechanical measurement setups. * Thermal analysis of IC circuits and PCB boards. * Mechanical analysis and tolerance analysis of IC's, connectors, etc. * Geometrical measurements and inspection of IC's, connectors, boards, etc., by using the digital microscope and CMM equipment. * Handling of prototyping of some of the designs by 3D\-printing and CNC machining to be executed by subcontractors. * Definition of needs for in\-house prototyping and handling of in\-house prototyping lab. **What You Bring** ------------------ * Education: BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field. * Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design and simulation using modern 3D design software like Ansys Mechanical, Solidworks, Autocad, Catia, Inventor or similar. ### **Knowledge \& Skills** * Programming skillsets using Python or Matlab for numerical models and data analysis using libraries such as numpy, scipy and pandas is required. * Knowledge of Geometric Design \& Tolerancing (GD\&T) is required. * Basic knowledge of optical systems and fiber optics – a huge plus. * Knowledge of version control software is welcome. * Fluent written and verbal English communication skill is a must: all internal documentation is written in English. * Continuous search for technical excellence. * Passion for learning from experience. * Critical and constructive attitude. * Capability to accept system design responsibilities. * Proactive (problem solving) attitude. * Team membership attitude. **What We Offer** ----------------- * **Development and growth:** we offer development and training opportunities in a fast\-growing start\-up company. * **Financial stability:** With us you receive performance\-related pay, health insurance as well as other company benefits. * **Work\-life balance:** A concern that is part of the company's culture.
