For new projects in the **construction sector**, we require an **INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL ENGINEER** based in **Madrid**.
**Scope and responsibilities:**
Engineering during the bidding phase
* Technical definition and calculation of instrumentation, automation, and control solutions.
* Definition of control and automation architectures.
* Preparation of technical specifications and engineering documentation.
* Preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and material estimations.
* Requesting and performing technical analysis of supplier quotations.
* Evaluation and selection of instrumentation and control equipment.
Engineering during the execution phase
* Design and development of process instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
* Control architectures.
* Loop diagrams.
* Logic diagrams and control schematics.
* Instrument lists and I/O lists.
* Instrument data sheets.
* Technical specifications for equipment.
* Installation layout drawings and instrumentation layouts.
* Instrumentation wiring and connections.
* Definition and sizing of instruments and control equipment.
* Technical coordination with other disciplines: electrical, mechanical, process, civil works, and telecommunications.
* Review and coordination of supplier documentation.
Project scope
* Water treatment plants (WWTP, WTP, desalination, reuse).
* Industrial and energy-related plants.
* Industrial process facilities.
* Industrial process automation and control systems.
**Responsibilities:**
* Design industrial process instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
* Define control and industrial communication architectures.
* Select and specify field instruments: pressure, temperature, level, flow, analytical, control valves, etc.
* Prepare instrument lists, data sheets, signal lists, and I/O lists.
* Develop loop diagrams, control schematics, logic diagrams, and installation drawings.
* Define control systems based on PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI.
* Participate in defining control strategies and philosophies.
* Review and validate manufacturers’ and suppliers’ technical documentation.
* Coordinate integration among instrumentation, PLC/DCS, SCADA, and electrical systems.
* Participate in programming, configuration, integration, and validation of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI.
* Define and review industrial networks and communications.
* Supervise the installation of instrumentation equipment and control systems.
* Perform signal testing, calibrations, and loop checks.
* Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and start-up of control systems.
* Resolve technical issues during erection, testing, and commissioning phases.
* Technically coordinate activities with clients, suppliers, and other disciplines.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* Experience in designing industrial instrumentation and control systems.
* Experience in process automation and control.
* Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
* Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI.
* Knowledge of loop diagrams, I/O lists, data sheets, and instrumentation documentation.
* Knowledge of industrial networks and communications.
* Proficiency with engineering and technical documentation tools.
* Knowledge of cost estimation (Presto or similar).
* Minimum 5 years of experience in:
* Instrumentation, automation, and control engineering.
* Industrial or water treatment projects.
* Detailed engineering and project execution.
* Projects of significant scale (> €5M).
**Desirable qualifications:**
* Experience working in a BIM environment.
* Experience in EPC/EPCM projects.
* Experience working in a BIM environment.
* Knowledge of engineering and automation software.
* Experience with Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, Honeywell, ABB, Emerson, or similar platforms.
* Knowledge of industrial protocols and communications.
* Cross-disciplinary knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
* PMI certification.
