Supervise onboard work execution and conduct follow-up ### **Astilleros Canarios S.A. (ASTICAN) is a privately owned ship repair yard with experienced personnel, primarily engaged in the repair, maintenance, and conversion of all types of vessels, structures, and equipment for marine renewable energy and offshore units.** ### **The shipyard commenced full operations in 1976 with modern facilities, particularly featuring a Syncrolift dry-docking system capable of lifting vessels up to 36,000 DWT, and seven dry-docking berths meeting the quality and service standards demanded by shipowners, enabling assistance with minimal advance notice.** **Position:** ----------- At Astican, we are seeking Naval or Mechanical Engineers for temporary naval repair projects in 2026. The responsibilities of the engineers include the following, always under the supervision of the Vessel Chief: * Manage the procurement of necessary human and material resources required for project execution—including internal resources, workshop supervisors, and subcontractors. * Upon vessel arrival at the shipyard, manage the provision of required services as well as any additional services requested by the Shipowner's representative. * Prepare the initial project schedule. * Effectively lead the project to achieve quality, safety, cost, timeline, and environmental protection objectives. * Review the quoted budget and the contract signed with the client. * Keep the client informed in writing of any circumstances affecting key project milestones, vessel departure dates, or other significant changes. * Personally and directly manage and supervise onboard work execution. * Closely monitor contracted works (as well as those performed by shipyard personnel) to guarantee quality and quantitatively and qualitatively define the actual scope of such works. * Advise the client on additional services or works they may require. * Upon project completion, supervise functional tests—including sea trials where required—in coordination with the Shipowner's representative and oversee vessel handover. * Accept and control warehouse charges assigned to their project. * Verify repair authorization from Production, Commercial, and Finance Departments prior to vessel launch. * Coordinate the launch with the Maintenance Department. **Requirements:** --------------- To pass pre-selection, applicants must: * Hold a degree in Naval Engineering or equivalent * Possess at least B2-level English proficiency * Have knowledge or training in Occupational Risk Prevention (basic 50-hour course) * Be proficient in Microsoft Office at an intermediate-to-advanced level * Desirable: AutoCAD and Microsoft Project skills; fluency in additional languages. **Additional Information:** --------------------- *Astican is an equal opportunity employer.
