Access to continuous training and structured learning programs. At SICE, we are looking for a Full-Stack Analytics Engineer to join the PGOUM (General Urban Planning Plan of Madrid) team. The selected candidate will be pivotal in transforming complex urban data hosted in the cloud into interactive visual tools. We seek a professional who combines strong analytical capabilities for large-scale datasets in BigQuery with API development and visualization component implementation using React. Responsibilities * Data Modeling and Analysis: Designing and optimizing complex SQL queries in BigQuery, leveraging geospatial functions (GIS) for urban data and indicator analysis. * Backend Development: Building and maintaining services and APIs (Node.js / Python) on Google Cloud Platform to efficiently serve data to the viewer. * Frontend Development: Implementing React components for geographic information layer visualization and interactive dashboards. * Performance Optimization: Ensuring viewer responsiveness through caching strategies, data pagination, and cloud-based process optimization (Cloud Run / Cloud Functions). * Technical Collaboration: Working alongside data engineers to define input data flow structures and ensure final data is actionable for end users. Preferred Qualifications: * Spatial Data Visualization: Advanced experience with interactive mapping libraries (e.g., Mapbox GL JS, Deck.gl, Leaflet, or OpenLayers), and rendering large-scale spatial datasets (e.g., Hexagon layers, Heatmaps, Choropleths). * BigQuery GIS: Specific experience using Google Cloud’s geospatial functions to perform large-scale spatial joins directly within the data warehouse. * Geospatial Intelligence (GIS): Understanding of cartographic concepts (coordinate reference systems, projections, geometries) and familiarity with spatial data formats (GeoJSON, WKT, KML, TopoJSON).
