Job Summary:
We are seeking personnel for pig farming tasks, including animal management, treatment administration, and assistance during farrowing and litter processing.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manages and treats animals on a pig farm.
2. Assists in farrowing and litter processing.
3. Monitors and manages reproductive activities of sows.
To support the opening of new gestation and farrowing farms, personnel are needed for pig farming tasks. Duties include moving and managing animals between areas, as well as administering treatments, vaccinations, and deworming according to protocol. Estrus detection and monitoring of replacement gilts, progestagen administration, estrus detection and artificial insemination of sows are also performed. Other responsibilities include regulating feeders and cleaning feed lines, feeders, and creep areas, as well as feeding sows and piglets. During farrowing, staff provide care and assistance, perform drying and colostrum feeding of piglets, litter equalization, cross-fostering, nurse sow management, and litter processing—all with corresponding data recording.
At least one year of prior experience on a pig farm is required. Training in animal welfare and a valid driver's license are highly valued. A minimum basic level of Spanish is required.
A permanent full-time contract is offered, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. One weekend every three weeks is worked, with a weekday off in compensation. The position is located in Luna (Zaragoza).
